Placements: 75 percent of my seniors got placement in my course although it's upon them that if they want to take the job or not. Packages may go between 25-35k to 70-80k on monthly basis. Colleges who offer Sanskrit hons may offer you jobs in it also many MNCs may offer a coding job too. Not many companies offer internship until the course is completed, so chances of getting an internship while pursuing the course is very low. The faculty and infrastructure are really good, with diversity being the cherry on the top.

Placements: The placement percentage is 95. Hindu College provides placements in almost every course. Some recruiting companies are Google, Deloitte, HDFC, KPMG, Maruti, Jaypee, Ernst and Young, DE Shaw, Essar and Royal Sundaram Alliance. It also organises various seminars and workshops related to our career.

Infrastructure: Due to Covid, we are having online classes. So, it's very difficult to say whether the facilities and infrastructure are better or not. But from the past experiences of my seniors, the infrastructure is...

Placements are not more after or during the course compared to other courses like B.Com Hons, etc. However, students get a chance to work on several innovation projects under the guidance of faculty members. If the project is related to biochemistry, then students can get a chance to work with biology and chemistry faculty members. I am satisfied with the college. It has a good infrastructure and environment.

Placements: Placements are not offered in our courses, and most of the students use to appear for civil service exams. Students of other streams are offered top-notch placements as the college is ranked amongst the top 3 colleges of the country. So the placements are pretty good here.

It doesn't make you capable enough to get a good job. B.Com H) can only be used as a step to pursue higher studies. Doing it from Ramjas or Hindu at New Delhi has no advantage over pursuing it from good college in Kolkata. Doing B.Com H) from Hindu or Ramjas has no brand value or special advantage to help you in building your career. Moreover you will spend time and money, staying in Delhi (Delhi is expensive city) away from your family and residence in Kolkata. It is better to pursue B.Com H) from Kolkata and try to focus on your studies and career and get good marks in graduation. You can also start preparation for CAT and other relevant competitive exams that may help you build your future while staying in Kolkata.

To get into this college is no piece of cake, but it is absolutely achievable. The cutoff for Hindu college ranges from 96 to 99 depending on the course you choose. You can also get into Hindu college through ECA or sports (if you are one of the best in the country in your sport or ECA) but for now, let's assume you take the straight channel for admission, that is academics. Assuming that you are well versed with major topics and concepts in all the subjects, now is the right time to start preparing for the boards. Start finding out your strengths and weaknesses and strengthen both. (because you need close to 100% for admission
Honestly saying, even I started my boards preparation seriously around this time only and scored 97.5 in CBSE boards, so it's not an impossible task.

Basic eligibility- The applicant must have studied Commerce or Science and passed Mathematics/Business Mathematics at the 10+2 for admission to B.Com. (Hons. ).
Till last year, admissions were based on merit basis where one had to qualify the cut-offs. Your percentage of 'Best of Four' is considered for admission. This is not only for Hindu but all the colleges under Delhi University.
All subjects to be included in the calculation of Best Four must have at least 70% theory component of the examination. In case the subject to be considered does not have at least 70% theory component, then the marks obtained in theory and practical shall be converted to 70% and 30% respectively, on pro-rata basis. The marks so arrived at will then be considered for calculation of Best Four.
The computation of best four subjects in the above framework should lead to an effective and unique best four which would be higher than any other combination of best four subjects.
However, now DU has proposed for an entrance examination for admission to various colleges offering B.Com and B.Com (Hons) courses. This is yet to be declared on the official website though. Thus, the dilemma still persists on DU admission for the year 2018.
Regards, Aneeket.
