This course is taught by the Department of Computer Applications and the final degree is offered by the Bharathiar University. For admission to Hindustan College of Arts and Science, applicants should pass Class 12 with PCM as the Main Subjects or a High School Senior Secondary exam by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) of India or any of the equivalent exams conducted by any State Board. The applicants should have secured a minimum 45% aggregate with English as a mandatory subject of the course. A relaxation of 5% of the minimum aggregate is allowed for the SC/ST candidates.

To get admission to BCA at HICAS Coimbatore, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria before applying for the course. For admissions, candidates are evaluated based on their past academic records. Eligible students are offered direct admission based on their merit of last qualifying exam. After the completion of the selection process, the college releases merit list of the selected candidates.

Hindusthan College of Arts and Science accepts the scores of TANCET for admission to the MBA programme. If candidates want to apply through the Management Quota, they can appear for MAT as well along with TANCET. Shortlisted candidates must further appear for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview to complete the HICAS MBA admission process.  

The seat allotment for HICAS MBA course is based on marks obtained by candidates in the TANCET/ CET/ MAT followed by the GDPI. HICAS MBA seat intake is 240. Admission is purely based on merit, subject to the reservation rules of the Government of Tamil Nadu and the University. 50% of the total seat intake is to be filled as per the reservation policy stipulated by the regulatory bodies and remaining 50% of the seats are to be filled through the Management Quota.

Students pursuing the MBA programme at Hindusthan College of Arts and Science can choose electives in the third and fourth semesters of the MBA programme. Students can select the electives as per their preferences in the second year of the programme.
