M.A. in Economics - Batch of 2024
4.2
4Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
Infrastructure is good, core jobs are limited, good learning with good placements, overall good.
Placements: I am from the department of M.A. economics, about 70% of students are placed in the department every year. The highest package is about 7 LPA. Many top recruiting companies in our course, most of our students are attending the placements, top roles like testing, manager, etc., are offered.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure and facilities are good, with a campus and a green environment. Infrastructure like labs and library is fully equipped by air conditioners. The hostel facilities are average and the food is better than average. Sports are conducted once a year.
Faculty: In our department, staff are trained and well-qualified. The teaching is good and the curriculum is similar and relevant to us. The semesters are conducted by the universities, so it might be a little tough, and the percentage has decreased for many students.
Other: The reason for choosing this course is that it is a leading course and has high value. Everything has improved. Events and symposiums are conducted every semester.

It is the best college in Chennai with good infrastructure.

Infrastructure: Loyola College's infrastructure supports sports, health, innovation, and well-equipped computer labs for commerce students. The indoor auditorium of Bertram Hall hosts major events. At Loyola, the innovation and incubation club promotes entrepreneurship among students and provides quality training.
Faculty: Loyola College has highly qualified professors. Many professors are PhD holders and have industry experience in their respective fields. The course curriculum is bad. Loyola is fine, but B.Com (Hons) is not good.
Placements: 100% of students who applied for placements get placed. The lowest package is 3 LPA. The average package is 5 LPA. The highest package offered is 8 LPA by Goldman Sachs. Top recruiting companies for our course are Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, KPMG, EY, and ICICI Bank. In the second year, Goldman Sachs and Deloitte come for internships. The top roles offered are analyst, business development executive, and relationship manager.
Infrastructure: We have AC in our classrooms, which is only available for the LIAC floor in the whole college. We have Wi-Fi all over the college, which we need to authenticate in the main building. There are smart boards for the 3rd year and projectors for 2nd and 1st year students. Hostels have different categories and blocks with different fee levels. It has 4 basketball courts, 1 cricket ground, 2 football grounds, and a hockey ground. We also have 3 canteens.
Faculty: To be honest, once we get in, we have to spend our 3 years doing nothing. Since we have 9 paper exceptions in ACCA, the fee is too high. However, staff members are really poor and have no knowledge. We will be missed by one freaking teacher named Leema Rose. She can't even take classes for 6th standard students, but she has 6 degrees behind her name. Even if we try to study from outside, we cannot find any resources, as the course curriculum is poor.

It is an absolute college for commerce students.
Placements: This year, more than 60% of students got selected for placement. The average package offered for students is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Tata Motors, Accenture, Rinex, Sutherland, RRD Go Creative, etc., recruit students from Loyola College.
Infrastructure: Loyola College has an advanced well-structured infrastructure. It has free Wi-Fi, individual computer labs for departments, and an advanced digital library. The hostel rooms are hygienic and well-maintained. There are 2 to 4 categories of rooms which can be decided by students.
Faculty: Loyola College has well-experienced and qualified professors. They have great knowledge in a particular specialized field. They also conduct mentoring programs for every student each semester to guide students to successful career opportunities. Semester examinations are not very tough but can be cleared by listening class.
Other: I chose the course because of its immense course structure and industry value. The course can add more digital-age skills and lessons to align with the industry and future.

My thoughts about Loyola college.
Placements: My college placements are too good. The campus placements are 6th-semester students for Under Graduate and 3rd semester for Post Graduate students for eligible for campus placements. That companies are offered made 30 to 50. 90 percent of students get placements. Accenture, Wipro, and IBM and many other companies visit our college campus to give recruitment to students and the average package was 6 LPA and the highest package was 28 LPA.
Infrastructure: Hostel rooms are big and comfortable for 2 persons in a room they provide table, chair, bed, and many other useful things. Many basic amenities they provide are washing machines, geysers, and washing dispensers etc. Each hostel room is provided with a LAN and Wi-Fi connection. Mess is the best part of this hostel, variety of food is there, and the taste and quality of food is also good. Sports facilities include 1 table tennis room, 1 football field, and a well-equipped gym.
Faculty: This college placement is great and good so this was the reason that influenced my decision to choose this course. This college faculty suggested areas for improvement in the course curriculum and teaching methods are also good. The explanation by faculty is very well, and the approach makes it very easy during exam sessions. They are supportive and helpful. Exams are easy here and are held in a semester-wise manner, 3 semesters in a year, with practicals as well. Class Size: 52 Course Fees: INR 60000 per year.
