IIM Udaipur PhD Highlights 2026
IIM Udaipur offers a regular Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme in a full-time mode. The duration of the programme is five years. PhD has an exclusively designed curriculum that involves coursework covering foundational subjects, methods & advanced courses in the area of specialisation. Master’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 55% aggregate & a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification (three-year or more programme) with 50% aggregate (after the completion of higher secondary schooling) Or Or (Those appearing for final examination in the application year can also apply for provisional admission, but will be expected to submit the required marksheets (PG degree with 6.5 CGPA or more) & certificates) NOTE: The last educational degree for PhD must be from a) any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956; or (b) recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India; or (c) possess an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE |

The selection process for IIM Udaipur starts with qualifying CAT examination, followed by shortlisting of candidates for Personal Interview. Just like all IIM’s, Common Admission Process (CAP) is the process through which PI are done. And finally a Merit List is prepared based on the CAT score, PI score and Profile score. The criteria for preparing the merit list will be as follows: CAT Score*: 60%, Interview (PI): 15% and Profile: 25%. Other than CAT exam, admission to certain courses is aslo done on the basis of IIMU Test and there is some executive courses where option for direct admission is available
IIM Udaipur MBA course admission is entirely based on CAT exam. Candidates needs to apply for the CAT exam if they desired to apply to IIM Udaipur. However, IIM Udaipur does offers courses which doesn't requires CAT exam for admission. IM Udaipur offers a regular Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) for Working Executives, designed for building a solid foundation and deep understanding of Business Management. The duration of the programme is 24 months, i.e. two years.

IIM Udaipur PhD Application Process 2026
The IIM Udaipur application mode is online. There is no application fee for the PhD programme The details are mentioned below:
1. Go the official website click on the Programs tab as shown below:
2. Click on the 'Application Portal' tab given at the bottom of the page. In the next window that opens, click on the Create Account button to register yourself (as shown in the screenshot)
3. Once you have registered successfully, use the credentials to log in and fill the application form.
4. Submit the required documents in the correct format (PDF, Doc, docx, or JPEG).
5. Click on the 'Submit' button to complete the application process.

- Class 10, Class 12 marksheets
- Diploma marksheet (if applicable)
- Bachelor's degree marksheet
- Master's degree marksheet (if applicable)
- Scorecard of CAT/ GMAT/ GATE/ GRE/ NET- JRF (if applicable/ qualified)

Yes, students can get admission in IIM Udaipur without CAT. However, this is applicable only for certificate, EMBA or one-year MBA courses. For these courses, students may also submit GMAT/ GRE scores instead of CAT. The flagship PGP programme admissions require CAT.
