IISER Berhampur is a life away from city hustle.

Placements: There are 300 students in a batch, and as it's a Research Institute, there are no or very few placements. People opt for Ph.D. still our council is working towards trying to get placement, though doing a PhD is preferred when you're in a field of research, students do get foreign PhD at Ivy League College.

It provides good research exposure.

Placements: Since it is a research institute, there are no placement opportunities as such. However, over the last year, a few placement initiatives have been taken up by the student council and are being looked into for further expansion. Internships are easy to bag due to extensive coursework and exposure to research.

IISER is a great opportunity for science to grow.

Placements: About 54% of students in my course get internships in foreign universities. Among them, 50% are already placed, while others are pursuing Ph.D. and post-doctorate studies. This college focuses more on research. The highest package here is about 46 LPA and the lowest is Rs.37,000 per annum, which a Ph.D. student receives as a stipend for doing projects under professors.

Our college has good course and good faculty but not ideal campus life.

Placements: If you want placements, IISER isn't the right choice. It is for building a student for further research, mostly doing a Ph.D. Some students might opt for jobs in education. Chemistry students might look for a job in a pharma company but that's not the college's responsibility. Do not come to IISER hoping for good placements. You'll land yourself in a nice Ph.D. course if you study sincerely.

Love the campus, best infrastructure.

Placements: Basically IISERs are not for placement. It is a center for excellence. But some students opt for placements. Most big companies come for placement like Google, Microsoft, Adobe etc. And various research companies. About 50% of students got internship in various research centers and universities and in other companies.

A must place for those young minds who wish to do research on any Science topic in future.

Placements: It is a Science research institute and we usually go abroad or any other higher institutions to pursue our PhD and post-doc degrees before applying for a job. Therefore there is no placement after BSMS degrees. There is no campus placement either. However, with PhD and post-doc fellows end up as research scientists or professors in good institutions.

For the EWS category, you can expect 95-110 marks to get into IISER Berhampur.

The cutoff rank for EWS is around rank 720 in past years.

If you score a decent 110 or more, you will easily get into the IISER Berhampur.

Thank you.
