IISER is a great opportunity for science to grow.
Placements: About 54% of students in my course get internships in foreign universities. Among them, 50% are already placed, while others are pursuing Ph.D. and post-doctorate studies. This college focuses more on research. The highest package here is about 46 LPA and the lowest is Rs.37,000 per annum, which a Ph.D. student receives as a stipend for doing projects under professors.
Infrastructure: We have Wi-Fi on campus and extraordinarily well-equipped labs. Our hostels have their own computer labs and gyms. We have a dedicated library building within walking distance from our hostel, inside the college campus. We have personal, well-furnished rooms with Ethernet, beds, and almirahs. Rooms are spacious and airy, offering a great view of nature.
Faculty: We have the best faculty, all foreign-returned teachers, and they teach amazingly. Our course is relevant and provides a good understanding of basic sciences in the first and second years. After that, we can choose our major in the field we aspire to research. Exams are difficult but effective in testing our skills and understanding of each aspect of science and our favorite field of science.
Other: I chose this course because it is one of the best research colleges. In all of India, there are only 7 IISERs. The best thing about this college is that we can easily get internships at IITs and foreign internships.

Our college has good course and good faculty but not ideal campus life.
Placements: If you want placements, IISER isn't the right choice. It is for building a student for further research, mostly doing a Ph.D. Some students might opt for jobs in education. Chemistry students might look for a job in a pharma company but that's not the college's responsibility. Do not come to IISER hoping for good placements. You'll land yourself in a nice Ph.D. course if you study sincerely.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not top-notch, but it's still quite okay. Hostel rooms are really good and most of them are single rooms. Labs are good but we do not have a permanent campus. Until the next semester, we have to travel to the transit campus for the laboratory which is 25 km away from here. Lately, we have been facing a lot of Wi-Fi issues. Hopefully, they'll be solved soon. Library needs a lot more books. On the permanent campus, classes are being conducted on the 1st floor of the dining hall, in guest house, and in the health center as the academic block is to be functional in subsequent semesters. But these places are good, with a nice ambiance. It is not a matter of concern. Food is getting worse day by day, and we have been told that the mess contractor will be changed in a month. Hopefully, there'll be something better. There are sports facilities inside and outside the hostel. Gym, basketball court, and badminton court are inside the hostel, and football and lawn tennis are outside. A cricket stadium is under construction.
Faculty: Most of the instructors are good as people and as teachers, except for one-two. Semester exams are not difficult. You will pass as long as you attend classes and study sincerely. Questions won't be from out of the syllabus. Grading is usually done relatively. It may sometimes be non-transparent depending on the instructor. Anyway, you don't calculate grades. Study and you will pass. Leave the grade to the instructor.
Other: I chose this course because I could not get a desired seat at IIT. It was unplanned and I did not even appear at the entrance. I took admission through the JEE channel. Most of the time, I don't regret it though, except for some overwhelming times caused by the authorities' decisions and rules. The course is very good. Instructors are friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. The other poor side of the coin is probably the authority being in the wrong hands. This year, a lot of things including science and cultural fests have been banned without any logical justification. There is not much crowd as there are very limited seats in IISERs, around 200 people per batch.

It provides good research exposure.
Placements: Since it is a research institute, there are no placement opportunities as such. However, over the last year, a few placement initiatives have been taken up by the student council and are being looked into for further expansion. Internships are easy to bag due to extensive coursework and exposure to research.
Infrastructure: Being a new IISER, the infrastructure is top-class. Classrooms, libraries, and labs are very nice. Being a bit away from the city center, connectivity is a little poor. Sports and games have the best equipment and are very active. Food quality can be improved.
Faculty: Teachers are excellent and experts in their fields. They are easily approachable and have very thorough teaching quality. The course curriculum is in accordance with the national-level exams, so it is very helpful. Semester exam difficulty level often depends on the professor but classes and materials prepare enough for good marks. The pass percentage is 33%.
Other: This course helped me gain more insights about research and development, so I chose it. The best things are the curriculum and lab work that gives experiments and skills to carry on research. Other than that, campus life is slowly becoming vibrant with international conferences, fests, extracurricular activities, etc. Overall, it is a really good experience.

Love the campus, best infrastructure.
Placements: Basically IISERs are not for placement. It is a center for excellence. But some students opt for placements. Most big companies come for placement like Google, Microsoft, Adobe etc. And various research companies. About 50% of students got internship in various research centers and universities and in other companies.
Infrastructure: IISER, Berhampur has the best infrastructure in India. You will get the world class facilities here. You will get the fast Wi-Fi, Library with all the required books and with access to thousands of journals in both offline and online. The mess food is totally love. Also you will get high quality medical facilities, sports and games. There are Basketball field in every hostel and also have indoor game facilities.
Faculty: IISER is famous for his faculty all over the India. It is a national importance Institution. The teaching quality and classroom are world class. The difficulty level of semester exams are of up to mark, not very difficult not very easy that is moderate. Generally the pass percentage of class is 100%. All students are selected here by a national level exam. The teachers are highly qualified.

A must place for those young minds who wish to do research on any Science topic in future.
Placements: It is a Science research institute and we usually go abroad or any other higher institutions to pursue our PhD and post-doc degrees before applying for a job. Therefore there is no placement after BSMS degrees. There is no campus placement either. However, with PhD and post-doc fellows end up as research scientists or professors in good institutions.
Infrastructure: We have an amazing library, Wi-Fi, computer labs and various Science labs for undergraduates to post doc fellows. The hostels are well furnished and provided with first aid kits. Healthy food is provided by the need thrice a day. We have to buy snacks from the canteen. Our college campus has medical block and a nearby hospital in case of emergency. We have cultural and sports meet every year hence they are highly valued.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and qualified. They are friendly and interactive. Education here is very rich and every course taught is relevant to the curriculum giving students a deep insight into the field of Science. The semesters are fairly tough. It depends mainly on how much the students have actually understood the subject. Scoring good grades isn't difficult as it follows relative grading.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to research Astronomy. Hence I am a major in Physics and a minor in CS. My course is BSMS, however, our permanent campus is almost ready and that would add to the improvement.

1. Category SC/ST/PwD:

If you are a member of the SC, ST, or PwD categories, you must have at least 65% of your Class 12 marks to be eligible. This indicates that even with a 60%, your application may still be reviewed; nevertheless, your chances of being chosen further will be based on how well you do on the entrance exam and in the interview.

2. Superior Score on the Entrance Exam:

Your chances of being selected may rise if you perform extraordinarily well on the relevant admission exam (JEE Main, KVPY, NTSE, etc.). Your Class 12 marks may be made up for with a very high score.

3. Additional Requirements for Admission:

In addition, candidate profiles and the board merit list are taken into account during the selection process. Your application may be strengthened if you have outstanding extracurricular accomplishments or previous years of great academic performance.

4. A Waiting List:

It is still difficult to get admitted with 60% even with the aforementioned reasons. On the other hand, in certain cases, students with lower Class 12th marks were admitted from the waiting list in the event that places were still available.

The following suggestions are provided:

Verify directly with IISER Berhampur: To find out more about your eligibility and possible admissions prospects based on your particular Class 12th scores, get in touch with the IISER Berhampur admissions office.
Put the entrance exam first: To strengthen your application overall, prepare for the entrance exam thoroughly and strive for a very high result.
Draw attention to additional strengths: In your application, highlight your extracurricular accomplishments, past academic success, and any applicable experiences or talents.
Think of alternative choices: Investigate BSc programs offered by different universities that may have less stringent admissions standards.
Although it's challenging, getting in with a 60% is not impossible. You can raise your chances of getting into IISER Berhampur or another esteemed school by concentrating on your strong points and optimizing your performance on the entrance exam.
