The permanent campus of IIT Bhubaneswar is spread over 936 acres of land. IIT Bhubaneswar has academic areas, residential areas, and areas for training centres and research parks. The Central Library has access to over 8,500 full-text electronic journals through 45+ full-text e-resources, over a million full-text dissertations, and 4 bibliographic databases from a number of publishers and aggregators. The institute currently has housing facilities for 500 students and 40 faculty and staff families. Additional student housing for about 200 students is being sourced. The institute has a well-equipped, air-conditioned 300-seat central auditorium that routinely hosts workshops, institute lectures, conferences, and events. The institute has a central computer facility with 60 desktops with the latest OS, software, and learning tools and high-speed broadband internet connectivity. The institute is well-equipped with modern classrooms for teaching and laboratories for both teaching and research. The total tuition fee for BTech programmes offered by IIT Bhubaneswar ranges from INR 8 lakh to INR 8.10 lakh. IIT Bhubaneswar offers a four-year BTech course in six specialisations. Admission to all BTech programmes is conducted only through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). Candidates aspiring for admission in BTech at IIT Bhubaneswar must fulfil the eligibility criteria for JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The final admissions are done through JoSAA counselling. Candidates should secure more than 90 percentiles to get admission to IIT Bhubaneswar for all undergraduate (UG) courses. In terms of ranks, students should get a rank below 2,500 in order to secure a seat at IIT Bhubaneswar. JoSAA has released the final cut-off rank for 2023 for all the UG courses offered at IIT Bhubaneswar. In Round 6, BTech CSE was the top course with the highest rank of 3101. The School of Electrical Sciences offers BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The school also offers two dual-degree programs. For postgraduate programmes, the school currently offers MTech in Computer Science and Engineering, Power System Engineering, Power Electronics and Drives, and Signal Processing and Communication Engineering specialisations. The programmes are designed to provide a deeper understanding of the subjects through quality teaching driven by simulation studies and real-time experiments.

The selection process for admission to BTech course at IIT Bhubaneswar is based on the candidate's performance in the JEE Main and Advanced exams. The JEE Main exam is the first level of the exam, and candidates who clear this exam can appear for the JEE Advanced exam. The final selection is based on the candidate's performance in the JEE Advanced exam. It is then followed by JoSAA counselling, and the provisional seats are allotted to the students.

So, I would recommend you to think on similar lines and decide as to what combination might work out the best for you. One thing I would strongly advise is not to make decisions based on emotions or attachments related to an institute, parents (with reference to staying near them) or friends. I know a few people who chose IIT just for the sake of being in IIT with no regards to the branch, when they had the option of getting a much better one at a lesser institute and they definitely regretted making that choice.
