    Q:   What is the cutoff for IIT Tirupati?
    A: 

    IIT Tirupati cutoff 2026 for the BTech programme in its last round was within the range of 6030 (BTech CSE) to 17682 (BTech Civil Engineering). Similarly, the last round cutoff for the MSc programme lay between 391(MSc in Mathematics and Statistics) to 805 (MSc in Chemistry).

    The lower the ranks, the more is the competition; as per this principle, out of all the BTech and MSc specialisations, BTech CSE and MSc in Mathematics and Statistics turned out to be the most competitive branches for admissions in the General AI category. 

    Kindly remember that the above-cutoff range is only for the General AI category in the last round; other categories, rounds, etc., will have different cutoff ranges.

    Q:   How can I get a seat at IIT Tirupati?

    Candidates must fulfill eligibility and selection criteria to get into a course. Check below the steps to get a seat in institute:

    • The institute offers admission to BTech based on JEE Advanced scores. IIT JAM and GATE scores are considered for MSc and MTech courses, respectively. JoSAA and JOAP counsellings are conducted for seat allotment to BTech and MSc courses, respectively.

    Students trying to take admission in IIT Tirupati based on GATE score are likely applying for M.Tech programme. IIT Tirupati accepts applications for both GATE qualified and IIT graduates. GATE qualified candidates need to complete bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology or maters's degree in Science in a suitable discipline as in the above table from Educational Institutions approved by AICTE/ Government to apply for MTech. Candidates with BTech degree from IITs with CGPA of 8.0 (7.5 for SC/ST) and above can also apply.

    Q:   Has there been any fall in the JEE Advanced cutoff rank for CSE at IIT Tirupati over the years?

    IIT Tirupati CSE cutoff 2026 is based on candidates' performance in the JEE Advanced entrance exam, followed by JoSSA counselling. In Round 1, the CSE closing rank was 5342 for the General AI category. In 2025, the first-round closing rank for the same branch was 4620, while in 2024 it was 4469.     College created tons of memories.
    Placements: Alumni's were working in leading positions with well-settled top packages. The packages arranged by the colleges range from INR 2.9 LPA to 5.8 LPA. Our college alumni got such offers and elevated to next level of careers with such experience only. Until now, the best package received by our discipline students was 8.3 LPA at Syngene as research analyst at 2023 placements.
    Infrastructure: It's truly an environment that provided us the same with what we manifested before while during the initial stage of college days. A special department was appointed to find out and address the problems of the students. College created tons of memories with affordable charges.
    Faculty: Teachers had a good soul, kind-hearted, ready to interact, and clarify the students' doubts. They had good thoughts about the students' success. They were too strict in filing complaints against the students when they were involved in any inter-disciplinary action.

    My Review of this college.
    Placements: A lot of students get placement here. The Placements of M.Sc. programmes at IIT are beneficial both in terms of salaries and work roles, given that jobs are offered at really high packages. The best known companies come and offer jobs. The internships are also being provided, and at the personal level, professors also guide students and keep them informed. The famous recruiters Tata Consultancy, Microsoft, Deloitte, HCL, Amazon, etc. Overall,90% of the batch got placed in good job packages. The highest offered salary was around 22 LPA. The average package offered around 6 LPA.
    Infrastructure: The course gives overall knowledge of the area related to the course, and also gives an idea of the market we would be facing when we pass out. This is a good branch for Research, as you can decide what you like and then contact any professor. Hostel food and facilities are awesome. Like food quality is too good, there were always all options in the South and North Indian food. Breakfast is too good, all that you want is available. Dinner is also good.
    Faculty: The faculty are highly educated with years of experience. It was a great time learning from such highly learned instructors. They would be willing to share nuggets of information and extra help whenever needed. They were very kind in dealing with the students. They would not force the students to study. We had enough freedom to choose the courses and timings also. Exams are held semester wise, where student has a few mandatory courses and a few electives available within the department. One can also opt for courses of interest from different departments. Two Internal and one semester exam happen every 6 months.

    Masters life at the college of IIT, Tirupati.
    Placements: Students from all the departments go through the same placement training. We had undergone hectic competition, pressure to come in top position from the whole. Such training gave me the spirit to compete with anyone. The top packages secured by students from our department would be 17.62 LPA. The aim of the institution is to make students succeed in terms of placements and academics.
    Infrastructure: Top-notch meals are cooked and served everyday in the institute mess.
    Faculty: Innovation and technology updation leads to success of IIT, Tirupati's educational standards. Faculty members are best in teaching fields. Most teachers keep on studying even now, but they won't encourage the students in extracurricular activities. The main focus of them is to make the students in getting the highest grades in exams.
    Other: There are very minimal opportunities for us to concentrate on extracurricular activities.

    Sophisticated campus area.
    Placements: Maximum probability of students getting hired in core companies like LG, Sony, Ericsson, and R&N. Most probably 80% to 85% of students got placed with multiple roles. I had attended four drives, and from it, I received two offers with package of 5.4 LPA and 3.1 LPA.
    Infrastructure: Friendly campus and gave me some hope, and confidence to achieve something in life. It's an enlarged green campus with separate blocks for all departments. We use campus bus, cycle, or bus to move from hostel to our classrooms. All departments are seperate from one another by following some set of rules.
    Faculty: Mostly syllabus contains higher parts of equations and diagrammatic concepts but without any hurries, teachers complete the syllabus with better clarifications. There are fewer theoretical parts when compared to all other portions. After completing the MCQ test on completed portions they move on to the next part.

    Less attention is given to recruitment compared with other streams.
    Placements: Based on comparison, the M.Sc. Chemistry graduates score lower in terms of placements than the B.E/B.Tech graduates. Companies like Ericsson, Thermax, Mathworks and other edtech companies like Aakash and Unacademy have shown their interest in recruitment. For M.Sc. graduates, much attention is given by the research centres, likely for internships.
    Infrastructure: The students of M.Sc. Chemistry are selected through the IIT JAM Chemistry paper, the available seats, like 25 to 28, are only permitted in a year. The facilities like the airport, railway station, and other bus stops are very close to the campus, with the Seshachalam hills forming the backdrop of the campus, giving an aesthetic view.
    Faculty: Faculty members are trained and very experienced in handling students during sessions. The problem with the faculty members was that they failed to listen to the complexities of the students while studying and their execution in exams. They won't stand up or speak out for the students to the management.
