IIT Tirupati PhD Eligibility & Highlights 2024
MS (Research) and PhD admissions are made under regular full-time and external category. PhD is offered in nine specialisations whereas, MS (Research) is offered in five specialisations. The selection of the candidates to both the courses is based on a written test or interview conducted by the institute. IIT Tirupati fee includes tuition fees ranging from Rs 10000 to 8 Lakh. Students should secure valid scores in accepted entrance exams such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE or equivalent. It offers courses in UG, PG and PhD courses. The courses are conducted in full-time mode.
IIT Tirupati cutoff 2026 for the BTech programme in its last round was within the range of 6030 (BTech CSE) to 17682 (BTech Civil Engineering). Similarly, the last round cutoff for the MSc programme lay between 391(MSc in Mathematics and Statistics) to 805 (MSc in Chemistry).
The lower the ranks, the more is the competition; as per this principle, out of all the BTech and MSc specialisations, BTech CSE and MSc in Mathematics and Statistics turned out to be the most competitive branches for admissions in the General AI category.
Kindly remember that the above-cutoff range is only for the General AI category in the last round; other categories, rounds, etc., will have different cutoff ranges.

JEE Advanced 2026 result will be out in June 2026.
Candidates can check and download the JEE Advanced 2026 scorecard under their respective login on jeeadv. ac. in. To Download JEE Advanced 2026 scorecard, candidates have to use 7-digit roll number, date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format, and the 10-digit phone number that they used while registering for JEE (Advanced).
Also, category-wise All India Ranks (AIR) of successful candidates will be available through the JEE Advanced 2026 online portal after the results are declared. Text messages will also be sent to the candidates to their registered mobile numbers.
Only those candidates who will secure minimum marks in JEE Advanced 2026, as prescribed by the IITs will be included in the AIR list for JoSAA counselling and IIT admissions. Allotment of seats will be solely based on the category-wise All India Rank in the JEE Advanced 2026.

- A merit list is released by the institute for announcing the names of the candidates shortlisted for MPP, M.Tech and PhD courses followed by a counselling round. Candidates need to pay the admission fee to confirm their admission.

- First page of SSLC/ SSC/ matriculation certificate
- Copy of the submitted application form
- Original GATE scorecard or CSIR-UGC-JRF/ LS/ NET/ DAE-JEST or other fellowship award letter
- Degree certificate/ provisional/ course completion certificate/ grade cards/ mark sheets of all the semesters of degrees obtained.
- SC/ ST/ EWS/ OBC-NCL community certificate for the candidate belonging to SC/ST/ EWS/ OBC-NCL category (OBC-NCL scholars to bring a non-creamy layer community certificate valid at the time of admission)
- Relieving order/ Resignation acceptance letter from the employer in the case of full-time candidates, if employed
- Relieving letter, NOC/ permission and consent of co-guide from the parent organisation in case of external candidates
Admission to IIT Tirupati is granted based on valid entrance scores. Therefore, candidates must secure valid scores in the accepted entrance exams such as JEE Main/ JEE Advanced/ GATE or equivalent. Apart from this, candidates must secure minimum aggregate of 75% Class 12 and 50% in graduation, depending on level of course opted.
