IIIT Kottayam courses admission are entirely entrance exam based. Candidates seeking admission to any of the courses offered at IIIT Kottayam must take the entrance exam specified for that particular course.

For admission to the BTech programme at IIIT Kottayam, candidates must take the JEE-Main exam and should aim to score well in the said exam. Candidates having a valid JEE-Main rank will be shortlisted for the counselling process. IIIT Kottayam inducts candidates for the BTech programme through JoSAA.

Also, for admission to the M.Tech programme at IIIT Kottayam, candidates are required to fill out the application fee through IIIT Kottayam official website by paying the registration fee. Candidates based on their marks in the qualifying examination will have to take the written test and interview conducted by the IIIT Kottayam.

Candidates willing to take admission to the BTech programme at IIIT Kottayam must have passed class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with a minimum of 75% aggregate. Also, the candidate should have a valid rank in JEE-Main exam based on which they can apply for the counselling process through JoSAA at IIIT Kottayam for the BTech programme. Selected candidates will be required to report to the admission cell at IIIT Kottayam for document verification and fee payment leading to final seat allotment.
