IIIT Ranchi is a Public-Private institute which was established in 2016 by the MoE, the Government of India, and the Government of Jharkhand along with the industry partners TCS, TTL,  and CCL in a Public Private Partnership. The minimum percentile required for candidate's to score at least 75% aggregate (65% aggregate for SC/ST/PwD) in their twelve years of school education.
