IIMC Dhenkanal Highlights 2025
In 1993, IIMC Dhenkanal was set up by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, GoI as the second IIMC campus to extend its national footprint. The institute is located 80 kms from Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Since its establishment, IIMC Odisha has produced around 2,000 media professionals. Initially operating from a private campus, IIMC Dhenkanal later relocated to its own 7.5 acre-campus. The campus offers hostel facilities for its students and a guesthouse (for visiting faculty) which is situated in Gandhi Nagar.
IIMC Dhenkanal currently offers PG Diploma in English Journalism and PG Diploma in Odia Journalism to cater the need of English and Odia Media, respectively. Other than these, IIMC Dhenkanal campus offers short-term courses and training programmes to a range of government organisations.

IIMC Dhenkanal Courses 2025
IIMC Dhenkanal offers only two post-graduate courses, namely PG Diploma in English Journalism and Odia Journalism. Both of these courses are specialised in Development Journalism for non-aligned and other developing countries to mid-career journalists. The duration of both the programmes is one year. Candidates must have an eligible score in graduation, Class 12 and Class 10, in order to apply for the IIMC Entrance Exam.
However, due to covid-19 pandemic in the country, the deemed-to-be university decided to conduct a remote online entrance exam for granting admission to students. No, you cannot get direct admission to the PG Diploma programmes at IIMC Dhenkanal.
