Admission to all the Institute of Home Economics courses is entrance-based. While Institute of Home Economics accepts CUET UG exam for admission to its undergraduate courses, admission to all the PG programmes will be subject to the CUET- PG exam starting admission 2023. The institute along with DU started accepting CUET UG starting 2022 and the CUET PG from 2023 session onward. Before this, admission to UG was based on merit in Class 12 and PG admission was mostly subject to DUET exam previously conducted by DU. The cutoff will be different for different branches like 95 percentile for B.Sc microbiology, 83 and above for biochemistry 89.5 above for journalism and 83.5 percentile for B.Sc home sciences.

The application fee depends on the candidate category like the student from general have to pay 650 INR. And for the student belong to OBC-NCL and EWS have a fee of INR 600. And for SC/ST/PwD/third gender has INR 550. And the person from outside india have to pay 3000 as application fee. The fee structure is different from application fee.
