IIHMR Delhi Students Participated in Community Outreach Program for Disaster Risk Reduction
October 25, 2023: Dr. Sutapa B. Neogi, Director of IIHMR Delhi, and Dr. Nidhi Yadav, Associate Professor, IIHMR Delhi, launched IIHMR Delhi on October 4th, 2023. Students from IIHMR Delhi took the initiative to sensitise underprivileged youngsters at Deepalaya Learning Centre in the Kalkaji district of New Delhi as part of the ongoing Community Outreach Programme for Disaster Risk Reduction. It was made possible thanks to the hard work of pupils like Jyoti and Tanushree. The youngsters at this NGO took part enthusiastically and learned important information about causes, fire safety, earthquake readiness, and emergency measures. They demonstrated their knowledge with a mock drill and a fun quiz game. A noble mission—raising awareness about health and hygiene was demonstrated by another team of dedicated students from IIHMR Delhi, who left no stone unturned as they engaged in impactful activities, including captivating 'nukkad natak' (street plays) and one-on-one conversat

A special thanks to Humanitarian Aid International (HAI) coordinators Madhu Thapa and Bandita Bharuah at the Signature Bridge Refugee Camp, whose dedication was instrumental in the event's success. The event was executed flawlessly thanks to the dedication of the IIHMR students.
