Review of Jabalpur Engineering College.

Placements: We 19 persons took admission in this course, and 9 were placed. The highest package was 10 LPA and the minimum was 3 LPA, the package we got. L&T is the biggest recruiter for our course, and we all got internships by our own efforts. The TPO was not very supportive for our placement. We got the post of Trainee Design Engineer after placement.

Infrastructure: In our course, the lab was good. The college has a good set of computers but does not have good lab assistants to provide a good set of knowledge. The hostels are good, with good-sized rooms, and the area is good; you can easily find PG accommodations. There are 12 hostels for boys and 4 for girls.

Faculty: Teachers are qualified, but they are arrogant and work like sarkari offices. The old curriculum is never updated, and students are not ready for the industry with a lack of a good skill set. Semester exams are easy, based on previous papers, and easy to crack with 28 marks out of 70 being passing marks.

The review of Jabalpur Engineering College.

Placements: Placements for the students of the masters courses are very poor. Only a few companies visit the campus for placements. No student got placed from our batch until now, but we have participated in the placement drives conducted by 2 companies. A few students got placed from our senior batch. Around 3 out of 18 students were placed from their batch. Even the salary package offered was quite average.

Infrastructure: The best thing about this college is the infrastructure. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled, but there are data restrictions for students. Our classrooms are very huge, but most of them are old. There is one central library where you can read very peacefully. The college is famous for its achievements in sports such as cricket, badminton and hockey. You can play at any time. The labs are average, and most of the equipment is non-functional. There is no canteen available on the campus. The hostels are good for the students of the bachelor courses as their buildings are new as compared to ours.

Faculty: Only a few lecturers are conducted for the students of the masters courses. Masters students have to study on their own. But the teachers here have good knowledge and are highly experienced. The teaching quality is good, but the lectures are conducted only a few times. Conventional classroom teaching methods, digital learning, and lab sessions are used to teach. We will be getting exposure to our fields after the second semester. The course curriculum is certainly useful.

Other: Many varieties of events are organised in our college on various important days. Even some events conducted by the radio channel are quite entertaining. The fest named Aureole was organised in previous years, and many events like drama events, dance events, singing events, arts events, technical events, and literary events are conducted during this fest. The campus crowd is huge as the college offers the engineering course in multiple departments. Various sports and extracurricular activities like cricket, football and badminton tournaments and singing and dance competitions are also conducted here.

The review of Jabalpur Engineering college.

Placements: The placements in Jabalpur Engineering College are good. Mostly IT companies visit the campus for placements. Infosys, TCNFOS, and IBM are the main recruiters in our college. The placement percentage of CS, IT, and EC branches is 100%. Some core companies also visit the college to recruit the students.

Infrastructure: Being one of the oldest colleges of Madhya Pradesh, the infrastructure of our college is not up to the mark to its reputation, but there is enough area to construct new buildings. The laboratories of our college have enough instruments.

Faculty: Most of the experienced faculty members are working in our college, and they have plenty of knowledge. Their way of teaching is excellent. They have very good command in their subjects both practically as well as theoretically. They have published many national-level papers in their research work.

Other: JEC is an autonomous college, and overall, it is a good college.

Average college for Masters, don't expect much.

Placements: Placement for masters in JEC is not good. First of all, there are no placements for civil engineering students, and I don't know any person in my seniors who got placed. There is no internship offered from the college and stipend is offered by the government of India through the Ministry of Human resources development, it's fixed at Rs.12,400 per month for GATE qualified students.

Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi facility available for free in the college. You have to fill a form, and students should pay some amount if you want to use it. Labs are very old because the college is running from 1947. Sports facilities are limited. Hostel Infrastructure is very old, and no proper sanitation is available there.

Faculty: Faculty at JEC has the knowledge and holding doctorates, but usually, they don't take classes because of their research work. Research scholars have to visit their office almost 100 times to get approval for the thesis work. Also, there is no industry exposure to the students. The course curriculum is good, but the students cover most of the syllabus on their own.
