B.Tech. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering - Batch of 2026
4.0
Electronics and Telecommunication, our branch, is very straightforward and clear, so it depends.
Placements: It depends on the department they are studying in. In my department, as I've observed, the strength was around 60+, and among them, 15-16 members got their placements. The highest package was from TCS at 12 LPA, some received 6 LPA, and the lowest was around 2.4 LPA. Almost 40-50 percent of the students got their placements. Top roles included field engineer, team leads, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available in our department are good. All equipment, including technical equipment for the lab, is well-organized, in good condition, and works efficiently. There are minimal errors while conducting experiments with the lab equipment. There are enough computers for students to use, and the library is very spacious and large, with the capacity to accommodate 100-150 students at once. We have an in-college canteen, which is a bit overpriced these days, but the food is good.
Faculty: When it comes to my friends most of the lectures are very friendly and help a lot in studying and provide enough research to prepare for the exam. In the other colleges and top 10 will always be from our college so to be fair our college's department is good. Some exams are difficult but as the lectures provide enough research we can read and score good marks.
Other: It was too late when I decided to join this college. I wanted to join Electronics and Communication, but instead, I got Electronics and Telecommunication. Since that was the case, I was willing to join the Electrical course, but I chose this course instead. Every year, Janvi is held as an event, and many technical and non-technical competitions are conducted. There is a separate placement and scholarship department where we can get scholarships and placements with the help of the college itself. The college surroundings are very green, with many trees on our campus.

Our college has good placements, infrastructure, and facilities.
Placements: Campus placements are good. Students acquire the necessary criteria for placements from the 6th semester onward. Top recruiters are companies like Infosys, BEL TCS, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, HP, Evive Health, Global Edge, Dell, etc. Almost 60% of students get placed on campus. In 2019, a total of 250 students were placed through campus selection.
Infrastructure: We have a library with two floors. We have a lending and newspaper section on the first floor and a reference section on the second floor. The library is automated with e-Lib and accessible via the web. There are four boys' hostels on campus. There is a large mess for boarding. At first I thought the hostels were old, but they have started renovating them since the year I joined. There are 2 girls' hostels outside the campus. In the sports section, they have a sports pavilion, a multi-gym with weight lifting facilities, an indoor badminton court, and table tennis equipment. There is a large cricket ground in which India vs. West Indies match was conducted. There is also a football ground, a basketball court, and a volleyball court. They have 35 college buses for transportation, ranging from a daily shuttle service to and from college for students from nearby areas and girls from the hostel. There is also a medical center for the medical needs of students and faculty, which provides free health care. Canara Bank has a branch on campus with an ATM.
Faculty: Teachers are extremely helpful. You have to study on your own. Semester exams are not that difficult. They can be cleared. The teaching quality is good. Teachers are very knowledgeable, but very few are social. The pass percentage in the previous three years was 97%.
Other: They encourage cultural and sports activities. There is an annual fest. The environment is great. The campus is green and clean.

Decent College, good location but very poor placements.
Placements: TCS gives placement to 3-4 students. That's it. The highest package someone got was from Societe General. Rs 4.3 LPA is the average CTC offered.
Infrastructure: The hostel is decent. Labs are outdated, old instruments. The sports ground is very good. Food is decent in mess and college canteen also. Recently they've installed Wi-Fi in college. Travel facilities are good, buses are there often from college. Even if you don't travel by College Bus, you've to pay for it yearly.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are not updated to the latest technologies. They're friendly but need to get updated to the latest technologies and practical applications of the subjects that they teach. Projects are also very outdated which is done by final year students.

It is the best college and has a good placement cell, infrastructure and knowledgeable teachers.
Placements: The placement cell of our college takes special care of every student to get placed. Our college arranges various training programs which play a very important role in placements. Companies like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro, Tata Elxsi and many more visit our college for placements. The highest salary package offered is about 12 LPA, while the lowest salary package offered is 2.25 LPA. Our seniors got placed in very good companies. Our department also arranges placement programs and pays special attention to every student. I feel very happy to join in this college as it is the best college.
Infrastructure: Our college has a free Wi-Fi facility where students get benefits. Labs are very good. They conduct lab sessions by dividing students into two batches so that every student get the proper knowledge about the experiment. The hostel is also very good and clean, and the food served is also good. Our college not only supports academics but also supports sports and cultural activities.
Faculty: Teachers here are very friendly, and they clarify the doubts of every student. They have very good practical knowledge about the subjects. They also teach us to do projects so that we get technical knowledge. This course curriculum is very useful, and teachers try their best to train students to become experts.
Other: I am interested in electronics, so I have chosen this course. Subjects like microelectronics, etc., are very interesting and also more important, and trending technologies depend on that subject. I think everything is in the right way, so there is no need to change anything in our course. Our college organises a fest, which is more entertaining where students from other colleges also visit and participate in the programs. Our college conducts both technical and non-technical events like cultural, sports, singing competitions, etc. The campus is surrounded by green trees, and it is a very beautiful and also very clean campus.

Sports faculty are very good.
Placements: Companies that offer high packages don't visit our college. Companies that visited the college offered the highest package of 6.5 LPA. Companies like, TCS, Ethnus, Thasmai Automation, Zen Building Solutions, Career Prime, Face etc., visit our college to recruit civil engineering students. From the batch of 2017-18, 24 students were placed from civil branch out of 120 students who attended the interviews. The selection process has many rounds like aptitude test, group discussion, etc. There is a department in our college, and the staff present in the department help the students with all the placement related issues. Many of the students go to Bangalore after their BE to search for a job. I have given the above details as I have heard it from our seniors, as I am still studying in the college.
Infrastructure: The campus has 3 huge hostels named Tunga, Sharavati and Bhadra for boys, and a separate hostel is available for girls located outside the campus. Laboratories are very well-equipped. A huge library is available. A good canteen, huge international cricket ground, gym, indoor badminton hall, etc., are available. There is a separate building called Step for 1st-year students.
Faculty: Some teachers are M.Sc qualified, and some are PhD holders. They teach us from the basics and don't hesitate to answer our doubts. Physics faculty are good. They don't skip the topics. They give us assignments weekly, and sometimes, they ask us to give seminars. They conduct student meetings every month. They try to solve the problems of students. They teach us very well in the labs.
Other: Many sports events like VTU sports, Janvey sports, and other inter-college level tournaments are conducted every year. Cultural fests are held by every branch, every year. Alumni meetings are held. An NSS (national service scheme) unit is also present. Scholarships like Vidya Siri are available for eligible students.

It is a very good college from what I have seen.
Placements: It is a very good college; I can give a guarantee that it will be one of the best colleges in Karnataka. We have very good placements in the college. Top companies come to recruit students from the college. I am very happy to have studied at this college, and I will refer this college to everyone.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good compared to the other colleges. There is free Wi-Fi facility available to all the students in the campus. The library is very good. Labs are good, and hostel rooms are also good. We have one of the best canteens in college where the food is good, and the place is clean.
Faculty: Faculty are very good compared to the other colleges. We have very well-experienced faculty than others. Their teaching quality is good, and the teaching methods are also very good. Many courses are available in the college, and good quality education is available.
Other: Events are conducted on the campus. Campus surroundings and connectivity are very good.

Really good infrastructure. But placement wise, it's really bad. No proper placements.
Placements: The placements are only for those students who have above 60%. Only 3-4 companies are there. No proper industry exposure is given. The highest package is 4 lpa and the average is around 2.8 to 3 lpa. TCS, Societe Generale, and Evive Health are the major companies. 2-3 other companies also come.
Infrastructure: As far as infrastructure is concerned, the college has a nice atmosphere. It's a campus of 50 acres. There are separate blocks for 1st-year students, computer science, EEE, and mechanical. The labs are very good. The classrooms are very spacious. The canteen is also very spacious and the food is average. New hostel rooms are nice but the old hostel rooms are average. There is a national level cricket ground. Bus facilities are very good.
Faculty: The faculty members are very good. Most of them are having a great knowledge about the subjects. But the college fails to give industry exposure. Most of the faculty members are open with the students. My experience with them was not so good as I was not approaching them. But as far as I know, they are really good.

For a North Indian student I can say its quite tough to manage here because basically speaks Kannada
Placements: I will not say that our college gets you 100% placements but if you are good enough with your communication skills and average knowledge with respect to the platform you are studying, then you can get placed definitely. For an IT student, the college has quite an advantage.
Infrastructure: This college has one of the biggest digital libraries of Karnataka. Around 20,000 books are available there for reading purposes. The college has a well-known cricket ground which was inaugurated by Anil Kumble. During the last fest, Chris Gayle came to our college. Our college sports department is awesome.
Faculty: When it comes to faculty members of this college (specifically CSE), they are pretty good and up to the mark. Experienced and talented would be good choice of words to describe them. The course curriculum isn't vast, and one would get the necessary knowledge. Teachers are approachable and help a lot. Labs are fully equipped.
Other: The college is in Shimoga. It is a good scenic place and lots of greenery makes it more beautiful. The best part of this city is its climate. The climate changes fluently in a single day. In the morning, there will be a bit of heat till the afternoon and then, it rains till the evening daily to cool the atmosphere.
