B.Tech. in Production Engineering - Batch of 2024

Our college had good placements in 2015.
Placements: About 50% to 60% of students are placed in this course. The highest salary package offered is 6 LPA and the lowest is 4 LPA. The top recruiting company is TCS. Around 20% to 30% of students got internships at TCS and Wipro. Top roles offered in our course are web developer, app developer, back-end developer, and front-end developer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. There is Wi-Fi in our department. Labs are good. Classrooms are good and big enough for 75 to 80 students to sit comfortably. Our college organises sports and games such as cricket and football.
Faculty: Teaches are good and helpful. The teaching is good. Lectures are conducted regularly. The teaching quality is good. Students are industry-ready. Semester exams are sometimes difficult, and sometimes average. About 40% to 50% of students pass.

Only select this college if you don't have an option. Very few placements.
Placements: I have chosen production engineering as it is one of the core and famous branches. Almost 30-40% of the students were placed with an average salary package of 3 LPA. Godrej & Boyce, MechTech, Infosys, are top recruiters. Sales engineer, in-plant trainee, test facilitator, etc., were the roles offered during my batch.
Infrastructure: The college is located in a kind of village area, and you will get the feeling that you are out of Mumbai. However, there is a scenic beauty and a decent environment to study. The college building is average with necessary amenities. There is no Wi-Fi facility. There is low connectivity of mobile network on the campus. Classrooms and washrooms are decent.
Faculty: The course was helpful as production is a core stream with decent faculty members who have great knowledge of the subject. The syllabus is as per Mumbai University. Dinesh Lad is an excellent professor, and he teaches with a nice industry approach. It is an average college to choose.
Other: Mechanical and production are the two most core streams of engineering and a nice faculty for the same.

The teaching and grading system is not in sync.
Placements: Placement opportunities are not provided by the college but you get industry exposure through college internship which they provide you while you're in your last year. The final placement scenario is not even there. People from IT and computer get placed or they get a chance to do a job but the salary offered is too low which you will get easily by off-campus placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. The quality of classrooms and lab is good and every required thing is available for the students. The library is average where people don't actually read, they complete their assignments and all there. The college has a huge ground and exposure for many university tournaments.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members are way exceptional and some are average. Everyone is ready to help and guide the students. The method they use to deliver their knowledge is up to the mark as per the course structure. Some of the faculty members are not good. When it comes to internal assessment or grading, they are very strict in that- not delivering up to the expected level and not even liberal while assessment, which results in poor results. Attendance is not that strict but you will see that impact on your score.

Golden year - 2013 - Review by General Secretary of the Student Council
Placements: Production Engineering is a sandwich course with 6 months of in-plant training. Godrej & Boyce and Siemens are the available choices for the in-plant training (students from production engineering branch are proactive and usually find themselves company of their choice with the help of seniors) which helps in getting preference during the actual placement drive. Godrej & Boyce is the known company among the students which selects students from the mechanical and production branch. The average selection per year is 10 out of 180+. Godrej & Boyce - 3.6 lacs during GET and 5.1 lacs after confirmation (2013 data). Now, 4.2 lacs during GET and 5.5 after confirmation. Other companies are Siemens, L&T, ASBI, Precision gears etc. Highest salary is paid by Godrej & Boyce. Marketing, sales, manufacturing, quality. design, planning, maintenance and purchase department roles are offered by Godrej & Boyce. Production engineering - 100% students get the opportunity for in-plant training with a varying stipend as per the company. (Godrej -12,000, Siemens - 6,000, ASBI- 8,000 with an average stipend of 10,000). The best placement and in-plant training opportunities are in production engineering.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good with spacious classrooms and a seating capacity of 80 students, a Wi-Fi facility, a big playground (one of the biggest in any engineering college in Mumbai University). You will love to be in and around the pleasant atmosphere of the college. The medical facility is improved due to the nearby presence of the pharmacy college. A conducive environment for young minds to come up with great ideas and implement them. The college is having great labs for all the courses, Library is decent with an easy availability of books. Overall, the quality of classrooms and labs is good. Quality of food in the canteen is impressive with a variety of cuisines. Hostel rooms are good compared to the location availability. The ccanteen infrastructure was not good during my tenure at college but know it is improved. Open space and healthy atmosphere is the key.
Faculty: Very helpful faculty members with great knowledge of the subject. Teaching methods involve classroom sessions, practical sessions, workshops and presentations, and One to one counselling with parents after every term test for identified students. 1:30 is the faculty-student ratio. Industrial visits are organised by the college from time to time to give exposure to the industry practices and give a better understanding of the concepts. The course curriculum was useful.
Other: The college location is blessed with a pleasant atmosphere and having better connectivity with Karjat station by college bus and autorickshaw. The college ground size is amazingly beautiful. In terms of technology upgrades, the college needs to work on a few things.
