My college through my lens.
Placements: In our course, we don't have campus placements available. However, once we graduate and start looking for jobs, it’s relatively easy to find suitable positions. During internships, we work part-time after college hours, which helps us earn at least 5,000 INR per month. A full-time job after a BDS degree can fetch a salary of INR 15,000 to 30,000 per month. After completing a postgraduate degree, if one opts for teaching, the minimum salary can be around INR 20,000 whereas a clinical practice can offer a higher amount.
Infrastructure: Our college provides free Wi-Fi access in the library. Besides the Wi-Fi, the library offers a wide range of books, articles, journals, newspapers, question papers, magazines, and computer facilities. We can also obtain Xerox and printouts from here. Our classrooms are well-ventilated and equipped with projectors and screens. The clinics are well-equipped with lasers, electrocautery, CBCT, RVG, and surgical microscopes, which facilitate providing advanced treatments. The hostels are situated in a peaceful environment. The quality of food is average, with a few special items served during festivals. We have a full-time physician and a pharmacy available on campus. The hostel facilities include lifts, a gym, and a sports ground.
Faculty: All the staff have a master’s degree, making them highly qualified and competent to help with any difficulties faced in labs or clinics. The only issue is that the curriculum is slightly outdated, but this is more of a university-level issue rather than a college-specific one. I feel they could include more relevant topics that would aid us in clinical practice. Nonetheless, most of the curriculum is still applicable in today’s times. We have three internal exams and one final exam every year. The internals are conducted at three-month intervals. For these exams, studying the previous years’ question papers thoroughly is generally sufficient. The minimum passing mark required for each subject is 50%.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in the medical and aesthetic aspects of dentistry. The best part of this course is the satisfaction of helping patients. The relief and gratitude you receive after successfully treating a patient and assisting them with their pain, functional, or aesthetic concerns are incomparable. The only thing I would wish to improve is the relevance of the course curriculum. We have an annual fest called Krisdentz, conducted in May or June, which includes two weeks of sports events and two weeks of cultural activities. Besides this, every festival is celebrated with grandeur.

I am very well satisfied with the knowledge and the skills provided.
Placements: Bachelor of dental surgery is a profession which is mainly about self employment. So, placements aren't the thing we look up to, we either set up a clinic or join a hospital. Private practice, research, collaboration clinical set up, community services are the roles served by the BDS professionals.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure has a college and a hospital component. We have Wi-Fi campus, library, lecture halls, departments, auditorium. We have in campus men and ladies hostel with mess facility, reading room, sports ground, gym, canteen and is self sustained.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is splendid as well. They use various modes and models for theoretical and practical demonstration of the subject and the topic which helps in reinforcing the understanding of it and creates a strong foundation.

Review of Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences and Hospital.
Placements: We have to do internship in our college We have our own hospital where we have pretty good number of patients coming every day. The college will not give placements. The yearly package I got was 4.5 lakh. Since I'm a non-Karnataka, I've got more packages, but if you are from Karnataka, you might get it for less.
Infrastructure: We have a huge library where we can study and even books are available for all the subjects (medical subjects to dental subjects). The infrastructure of the college is not that great but for 10 departments there is sufficient place for students to sit and the college is pretty big.
Faculty: Teachers, faculty, and everyone else are supportive and helpful. The teaching quality differs from teacher to teacher but everyone is pretty good. They have lots of knowledge to provide us. Difficulty level: it depends on the students actually how they studied.
Other: We have 46 students in our batch. I think they can give more patients to practice; that's it.
