LPU Admission Office PhD Eligibility & Highlights 2025
LPU Delhi offers PhD for a minimum duration of three-years at the doctoral level. The university offers full-time PhD in 42 specialisations. The university conducts a National Entrance and Scholarship Test (LPUNEST) for PhD candidates. Check below LPU eligibility for PhD course:
- Aspirants who have completed a master's degree (two-year/ four semester's degree after a three-year bachelor's degree) or equivalent with aggregate ranging between 55% and 65% or equivalent grades can apply for PhD programme.
- Aspirants who have passed one-year/ two-semester master's degree programme with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grades prescribed by UGC after a four-year/eight-semester bachelor's degree can also apply.
LPU Admission Office PhD Fees 2025
There are multiple components included in the fees for the LPU courses, such as tuition fees, caution deposit, hostel and mess charges. LPU PhD tuition fees range between INR 3 lakh. The total fee shall include more components. This fee amount is as per the official website/sanctioning body. It is still subject to change and hence, is indicative.

The exam fee for LPUNEST (soft copy of LPUNEST KIT) is INR 1,000 for males and INR 500 for females. The printed LPUNEST Kit is INR 1,500 for boys and INR 1,000 for girls. Check below the steps to apply for LPU PhD admission:
Step 1: Visit the official website of LPU and click on the ' Apply Now' tab at the top of the web page.
Step 2: Register on the official admission portal of LPU i.e. LPUADMIT (admission.lpu.in) with basic details such as name, email-id, mobile no., state, gender and password). The email id used during registration will act as the username for the portal and the password needs to be set by the candidate while registering. Candidates can continue to apply for LPUNEST (for scholarship purposes).
Step 3: Upload the requisite documents.
Step 4: Pay the application fee and hit the submit button to complete the application process.
LPU Admission Office shortlists candidates for PhD admission based on their scores in LPUNEST. Aspirants who pass the entrance test have to further qualify interview round. The final selection for PhD admission is based on performance of the candidates in entrance test (80% weightage) and interview (20% weightage) subject to scoring minimum marks in the interview round.

The admission cycle starts for PhD admission between October and November. Find below the steps to get admission to PhD programme:
Step 1: LPU PhD Application Process 2025
LPU PhD admission to all the above-mentioned specialisations is done through online mode. Candidates, fulfilling the eligibility criteria, need to apply online through the admission portal of the university. - Recent photograph
- Mark sheet and passing certificates of Class 10, Class 12 and graduation
- Qualifying exam certificate/ mark sheet

Step 2: Slot Booking
This step is applicable only to the candidates wishing to appear for LPU NEST PhD. In LPUNEST slot booking 2024, candidates need to select an exam date and a shift for appearing in the exam. There are two ways to book the slot that are slot booking by the candidate and slot booking by the authorities of Lovely Professional University.
Step 3: Selection
LPU selects candidates for PhD programme based on LPUNEST PhD score. The university will also consider the academic performance of the candidates for final selection. Below is the weightage of selection parameter for PhD:

Candidates can apply offline for PhD course as soon as they recieve the LPUNEST Kit. The application form can be submitted by one of the following methods:
1. Manual Application: Fill the full application form (OMR sheet) after reading all the instructions as specified under the head “Instructions for filling Application Form (OMR sheet)” and send it to the university in the self-addressed envelope on the following Address: Block 30, Room No 102, Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar Delhi, GT Road, Phagwara, Punjab, India – 144411
2. Semi-Offline Application: In case applicant is unable to send the hard copy of application form (OMR Sheet), then applicant may scratch the Unique OMR code available on application form (OMR Sheet) and follow the below mentioned steps:
- Sign up on LPU ADMIT portal
- When prompted for payment, choose the option of Unique OMR Code (given on OMR Sheet)and fill the same.
