Chandigarh University PhD Eligibility & Highlights 2026

Chandigarh University offers PhD programme in full-time as well as part-time modes. Admission to the programme is based on the performance of a candidate in the CU PhD entrance test, followed by a Personal Interview. Candidates having qualified UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ GPAT/ SLET scores are exempted from the entrance test. A few important highlights regarding PhD admissions are shown below:

PhD programme is offered in over 15 specialisations with a minimum and maximum duration of three and six years, respectively. A few of the PhD specialisations with the common eligibility criteria are mentioned in the table below.

Eligibility criteria (common for the below specialisations): Master's degree in Pharmacy/ Biology/ Sciences/ Biotechnology with minimum 55% aggregate or 5.5 CGPA

Satisfied with teachers and working department.

Placements: The number of students placed in this course is 35%. The students of this course got the highest package of 15 LPA and the lowest package of 9 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Oracle, Apple, and IBM. 70% of students got internships in these companies. Top roles offered are software development, web development, data analysis, cybersecurity, and IT support.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is well planned over 25 acres. The whole campus is covered with Wi-Fi, and the classrooms have smart boards. The labs are updated with the latest technology, computers, and have an Apple lab. The food available in the mess and canteen is freshly prepared and delivered in well-packed containers. The campus also has medical facilities and organizes an annual sports meet.

Faculty: The teachers are also disciplined because they are regular in lectures and always teach with sincerity. The teaching quality is excellent. The curriculum is relevant and makes the students ready for industrial work. The semester exams are average, and the passing criteria are to score 40% marks in each subject.

Other: I chose this course because I want to develop my programming languages, database management, and web development. The best thing about this course is that it gives you the courage to explore the unexplored things. The campus organizes fests and extracurricular activities. The campus also provides a scholarship based on students marks.

Overall, best university for a Ph.D. in computer application course.

Placements: 76 to 86% students from our college got placed. Highest package offered is 22 LPA, and average package offered is 9 LPA. Companies like Tech Mahindra, LTI Mindtree, Microsoft etc., came to our college for recruitment. Many students also received internships in my course. Data Scientist, AI Scientist etc., are the main roles offered to students.

Infrastructure: Our college offers some of the finest services among all other colleges. Every department is well-structured. Libraries are outstanding. Our college features a fantastic main library. Libraries from multiple departments are also situated here. College, well-equipped, features remarkable sports facilities, among which is a swimming pool.

Faculty: Our departments instructors are quite capable. They have competencies and make valuable contribution in both academic and non-academic sectors. Quality of teaching is based on and backed by evidence. Throughout the year, we updated the curriculum and made major efforts to keep it relevant. Semester tests are not particularly difficult and the pass rate is above 90%.

Excellent University with State of art Infrastructure and Education.

Placements: Chandigarh University in Asia's the fastest growing university with 100% placement. The highest Package offered is above 35 LPA Companies like Microsoft come for placements every year. There is no other University in the region with such a great placement record.

Infrastructure: State of art Infrastructure. Library, Research Labs, Conference Halls, Workshops are available in each Block All student needs are well taken care. Food Court, medical facility, stationary, all basic need shops, sports, gym, Wi-Fi etc. Available in campus.

Faculty: Chandigarh University is one of the best university for Faculty as well as Students. A lot of growth for both. University is having most up to date curriculum as per Industry needs and standards. Flexibility is also provided to students to choose their area of specialisation by selecting electives.

Best university for pursuing course in ECE regarding placement, research,faculty and infrastructure.

Placements: Placements of Chandigarh university are best and placements records are best and if I talk about electronics and communication engineering student get chance to be placed in both core and IT companies and more than 70% students get placed in good MNC. CU provides golden opportunity for students to be placed in their dream MNC.

Infrastructure: CU has state of art infrastructure. Each block has great Wi-Fi speed and digital library. Department of electronics and communication engineering at CU has industry sponsored labs such as intel IOT lab, true chip, Wipro, Videocon and path etc. To bridge the gap between academics and industry.

Faculty: I can say faculty of ECE department at CU is best. Faculty is very helpful for students and very nice and hard working. We are having 15 Ph.D. faculty in ECE department and others are also pursing the Ph.D. and overall very healthy environment for learning. If I talk about course curriculum it is designed according to need of industry and its being update to meet the requirements of industry.

Other: Definitely CU is value for money. Trust me whatever you will invest you will get thousands time back in terms of learning, placement, hands on experience with industry sponsored labs and overall development of student. Overall campus life is satisfactory and you will mange to live in diversity environment as CU has students from each state and international students also.

Chandigarh university overall review.

Placements: Mostly all the students who sit for Interviews get job easily and moreover every year companies like Maruti Suzuki, Honda, etc. came to Cu for the placements of the students. Every year Chadigarh university arranges CAB meeting with most reputed industries which make a direct bridge for an internship to the students after completing their degrees.

Infrastructure: Every facility is easily available in Chandigarh university like Wi-fi in each floor of the building, Resource libraries in each building. And research-oriented labs also available in CU. 3D printed labs available, SEM microscopic Labs available, FEM labs available and most of the latest analyzing Software are also available in Chandigarh university for the research.

Faculty: The curriculum of Chandigarh university is maintained according to the latest technologies which are beneficial for the growth of the students. Most of the teachers are doctorate which helps students in various fields and moreover every month, there are some seminars which help students in the growth in the research area.
