Is there any entrance exam?

For Government polytechnic admission entrance test is mandatory. There are no cut off mark system for taking admission. Only entrance scorecard is required for eligibility.

Yes, you have to take an entrance exam as without entrance exam you will not get admission in civil engineering at MS Ramaiah College.

You have to show the gap year certificate at the time of admission. There is no problem in such a process.

What is the scope of Diploma in civil engineering? Will I be able to apply for government jobs after the same?

Hello Jaya, Diploma as the name suggests is diploma and not a degree. Hence where ever minimum qualifications asked for is degree, you can not apply. But govt employees diploma holders too in many states as junior engineer.
