The session highlighted the rising cyber threats and the need for individuals to adopt secure online practices. Dr. Ajay discussed phishing, malware, ransomware, and social engineering attacks, offering insights on how to recognize and prevent them.
e emphasized the importance of strong passwords, two-factor authentication, encrypted data storage, and regular software updates. A key takeaway was the role of Generative AI in cybersecurity, helping detect threats proactively. Students actively participated, raising questions about real-world cybersecurity challenges and best practices. Dr. Ajay also shared case studies of major cyber breaches and the lessons learned. In her closing remarks, Principal Dr. Ushaa Eswaran urged students to stay vigilant and adopt responsible digital habits. Mahalakshmi Tech Campus Launches New Industry-Academia Initiatives
March 17, 2025: Mahalakshmi Tech Campus is established to enrich its academic and industry collaborations. In yesterday’s (06.03.2025) meeting, key stakeholders discussed several forward-looking initiatives meant at preparing students for future technologies. Mr. R. Mageswar, Associate Vice President of TN Startup, suggested forming industrial research hubs on campus, nurturing collaboration between students, faculty, and industry experts in fields like AI&ML, cyber security, robotics, and sustainability.
The meeting also concentrated on increasing industry-sponsored internships and real-time projects to give students hands-on experience. Dr. Srinivas Gumparthi, Dean of Strategic Planning, proposed an incubation center to mentor student ventures, along with participation in startup challenges. Mr. Prince Packiaraj, Director insisted on design and developing laboratories to support research and industrial consultancy. These initiatives will support academic programs with industry needs, delivering students with essential skills for the demands of the job market.
A task force will be formed to drive these projects forward, with a follow-up meeting scheduled to assess progress.
