Review of Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
Placements: The alumni network of Manipal Institute is quite solid. We do get a bunch of internship and placement opportunities based on alumni recommendations, but one of the major recommendations is for IT sector companies like TCS, which offers internal communication internships and also gives a good stipend. At the end of the day, almost all students get placed primarily in IT, followed by FMCG and lastly, finance companies. Packages depend on the company; the highest is 10.4 LPA, the average package is 5.2 LPA and the lowest is 3.6 LPA. But getting a job in our core field is difficult.
Infrastructure: The institute is situated in a scenic location and is also close to a road, which is very useful. Classroom and hostel distance is greater; it is better to buy a bicycle for travel. There are many festivals organized in hostels; that's why day scholars can not enjoy that events. Our campus gives huge value to sports as it offers so many sports such as football, basketball cricket, etc. Our campus organizes tournaments every month, and we have a variety of clubs that help students study. Also, the college library has big digital boards, projectors, and classrooms with comfortable seating. Honestly, hostels are not affordable to middle-class students, but the food is tasty and hygienic.
Faculty: Our university is 7th in cleanliness and teaching. Teachers prove that they are very helpful; they have done research in subjects like media and literature. Teachers have in-depth knowledge about their subjects. The course structure is well planned, and they always make minor changes. All internal and external exams are done through the e-pad system so no one can cheat. Also, exams are so strict.
Other: Manipal is famous for events and activities; the crowd here includes students from all Indian states, and scholarships are based on merit and income.

    Admission FAQs

Q:   Is M.A. at Manipal Institute of Communication better than NISCORT Media College?
    A:

Both Manipal Institute of Communication (MIC) and NISCORT Media College are well-regarded institutions for pursuing an MA in Communication. However, there are some key differences between the two colleges that may make one a better fit for you than the other.

    Academic Reputation:

    • MIC is part of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, a renowned higher education institution with a strong international reputation. It is consistently ranked among the top 100 universities in India by various rankings agencies.

    • NISCORT is a well-established media training college with a focus on practical training and industry placements. It has a strong track record of placing its graduates in media organizations across India.

    Curriculum and Faculty:

    • MIC offers a comprehensive MA in Communication programme that covers a wide range of areas, including journalism, media studies, advertising, public relations, and digital media. The faculty at MIC is highly experienced and has strong industry connections.

    • NISCORT's MA programme focuses on practical training and industry-relevant skills. The faculty at NISCORT is drawn from experienced media professionals.

    Infrastructure:

    • MIC has a modern and well-equipped campus with state-of-the-art facilities for teaching and learning. The college also has a strong research culture and encourages students to undertake research projects.

    • NISCORT's campus is well-equipped for practical training and has studio facilities for broadcast journalism, video production, and photography. The college also has strong industry partnerships that allow students to gain hands-on experience through internships and collaborations.

If you are looking for a comprehensive MA programme with a strong theoretical foundation and a focus on research, then MIC may be a better fit for you. However, if you are looking for a practical, industry-focused programme that will prepare you for immediate employment in the media industry, then NISCORT may be a better choice.

Ultimately, the best way to decide which college is right for you is to visit both campuses and talk to faculty and current students.
