Different Hons., courses available, and no placements offered.
Placements: 25% of students got placed within my batch with my course. The maximum percentage of students placed to date is 80%. The total number of seats in my course is 40. There is no placement offered to us, though students can apply to pharma companies on their own. Students get internships at different pharmaceutical companies within the state through college itself. The top roles offered in the course are quality control and quality approval in pharmaceutical companies.
Infrastructure: There are 40 seats for my course and separate classrooms, labs, and smart classes available. Wi-Fi is provided by the college. Hostel facilities are available to students who hold COI and don't live in Gangtok. Mess, canteen, and medical facilities are included. We have sports competition among the different departments in the college.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified for the course and are knowledgeable enough to teach us the subjects. The curriculum makes students industry-ready as it also includes a skill component to help students understand better through theory about pharma companies. Weekly class tests are conducted by the subject teachers and monthly sessional tests with practical examination. On Saturday we have tuition classes in the college itself where students can visit the college with their respective department teachers who help them to clear their doubts. Teachers are knowledgeable and share their industry experience to make us understand.
Other: Pharmaceutical chemistry is a unique and full of scope in the pharma industry. It is an easy yet useful course with skill development included. We also have a smart class to understand the subject better. College fests are very interesting and among different departments. It is a government college, and no semester fee is to be paid by any students. Students with COI get scholarships. Weekly and monthly seminars are conducted by different departments of the college. College also has NCC for female students on campus. Clean campus and good connectivity.
