NITK Surathkal provides scholarships under various schemes to the students of various UG and PG programmes. The scolarships are mostly Government scholarship schemes for the financially weaker students and reserved category students. The scholarships are awarded in the form of financial aid on the basis of merit in examination scores or specific background.
New Scholarship Schemes: Three new scholarship schemes are introduced in the AY 2026-2027 by the insitute, which are Kalpana Chawla Chhatravrati Yojna for Girls Scholarship Scheme, PM YASASVI Scholarship for OBC/EBC/DNT students, and National Scholarship for Higher Education (SC/ST Students).

NIT Surathkal Scholarship FAQs:
The NIT Surathkal fees for 4 years BTech is INR 6.26 Lacs - 11.42 lakh with the hostel fee. The total tuition fee for the programme is INR 5 lakh. The BTech Fee varients are divided in four components namely, tuition fee, Other fee Part A, Other fee Part B, and Hostel charges (if opted). The Part A fee is paid in the semester 1 only, while the Part B of the fee is majorly paid in the odd semesters.
No, BTech at the NIT Surathkal is not that costly. The fees for the BTech course is around INR 5 Lacs and the college gives many specialisations also under its BTech programme.
NIT Surathkal MTech total fees is INR 1.4 lakh. The final admission fee will be inclusive of other charges and hence will be more than the mentioned amount. It must be taken into account that the given fee is as per the past years' fee structure and thus may vary. The institute publishes the fee structure on its website.

Placements: I'm studying at NITK Surathkal as a mechanical engineering student. Around 80-90 percent of students who sit for placements get placed. The average package is around 10 LPA-12 LPA, and the highest can go above 25 LPA. Top recruiters are L&T, Mahindra, Bosch, etc. Around 60-70 percent of students got an internship through campus or non-campus opportunities. Top offered roles include R&D engineer, Design engineer, mechanical engineer, and production engineer.
Placements: Nearly 80 percent of students got placed, and others also did not like that they were not placed. They went for higher studies. Microsoft was the top recruiter. Oracle, Airtel, HDFC, and CITI Bank are the top recruiting companies. Around 80–90 percent of students receive internships, commonly offered by Microsoft, Oracle, and Uber.
Placements: Internships are provided by various tech companies that come to the college. They offer role which are pretty much what you're expected to get from the college. The time period is for around 2-6 months. The placements are pretty good, with top companies attending them. Companies such as Goldman Sachs, Google, Microsoft, etc., participate in them. The highest package goes around 56 LPA, the average for CSE being around 28 LPA. 95% of them are placed.
Placements: Around 80 percent of students are placed from mining. The highest package is 36 LPA, and the median is around 12 LPA and the same for the average. Top recruitment companies are Vedanta, mainly for core, for tech, most of the top companies are there. Internship is bad, it's around 10 to 20 percent. GET is the top core role.
