B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering - Batch of 2019

Dissatisfied by the infrastructure, placements, medical facility and the girls hostel warden.
Placements: The placement was not up to the mark. The placement was actually zero no one form our batch got placed in any of the company but for the education purpose, they gave good knowledge in our stream. Faculty were good and had good knowledge of their subjects. They also had industrial visit for students to acquire knowledge of working in industries.
Infrastructure: It was all okay. The food in hostels was not proper. Neither they had a proper medical facility. They lack dispensary for any medical emergency we need to rush to the nearby hospital and the girls hostel warden was least bothered about the well being of the children.
Faculty: The teaching faculty was very good, very cooperative and supportive too. For a hostelite the best thing is when we get a homely environment away from home this duty is generally of the warden but in ladies hostel warden was least bothered. But we had friendly teachers.

The college has a moderate infrastructure and is conventional but has a brief engineering syllabus.
Placements: There were no placements available on the campus. Almost all of my classmates are in some reputed organisations only because of their hard work and enthusiasm. The pre-placement talk organised by the college was a total waste. All the companies that came to the placement drive were fake.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure was moderate in the sense of the classrooms and the campus. Though the college was self-claimed Wi-Fi enabled campus, but the Wi-Fi modem was active only for 2 HRS a day. The boys hostel facility was very good. One thing I liked very much were the labs. The labs are maintained very well and were full of adequate apparatus. The library was very good.
Faculty: The course curriculum used in the college was old and conventional. It wasn't job oriented. The faculty members in the college were very helpful and friendly with the students. The teaching method used was only for the completion of BPUT syllabus. One good thing about the college was the robotics club which was innovative, and every year the faculty members are taken to IIT - Kharagpur.

Memories of my college life and missing a lot.
Placements: The placements are just for the namesake. There was a campus drive or job mela where students from some nearby colleges also participates in the placements. I was selected in Optiemus Infracom, got a quality engineering job at Noida sector 63, but they told me to do at production assembly line, of zen mobiles which is an upcoming mobile. They told six-month experience is given, but when I talked with the employees working from 1,2 years, they told its doubt that they would give you a certificate after 1 year.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is dull, and there is no canteen facility. The toilets all are broken, and the labs are okay. The hostels are average, and the classrooms are normal. There is no playground, so we go to the nearby ISPAT stadium. Only a basketball court is used by 1st year in the parking place. All the parking sheds are broken waterfalls during rainy days. The Wi-Fi lab is there, but the speed is very slow. Even it is not available all day, but the area is good air-conditioning. The classrooms are big, but the fans are not in the correct places. The library is good and has varieties of books, newspapers, and magazines are available. A doctor cabin is available for few hours. In general, we go there for medical certificates. The canteen has the varieties such as samosa, potato chop, noodles, manchurian, tea, soft drinks, idly, etc.
Faculty: The faculty was good because it is very strict about attendance. Teachers are knowledgeable, and I have learned a lot from them. Ragging is prohibited. They teach according to the syllabus.

A student review about the college.
Placements: Last year, more students got placement offers. The students were hired in HCL, and also in one company that has come from Mohali. Last year, our college also held the Western interview affairs, in which students from different colleges have come for an interview.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is neither big nor small. All the laboratories have equipment that are in good condition. Our college is planning to build branches in other places, for which, they also have to buy the land, and the work will start shortly. This infrastructure is not bad, at the end of the year, we have an event known as Tekvag, and in January, we have our annual function and sports day. Our college also organised Padmanava cup for cricket in which different colleges of Rourkela participate.
Faculty: There are a lot of well-qualified faculty that have completed M-tech, and our head of department is a PhD holder. All our faculty are friendly, and they can clear our doubts at any time. We also have good lab assistants.

Absolutely satisfied because of faculty
Placements: According to placements in 2010, the last batch got many opportunities. But after that, the ratio of placements fell. Companies like Wipro, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Vedanta, HCL, L&T, etc. were coming for placements. But in 2014,2015 and 2016, there were less placements. 3 to 4 companies also came for placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average and facilities are not good but not bad either. Classrooms and labs are good but Wi-Fi and canteen facilities are not good. Hostels are good for the students and facilities are also good. According to the infrastructure, facilities are good. I did not face any infrastructure-related issue in the college.
Faculty: The experience with faculty members was very good because they are well-qualified as well as knowledgeable. Their teaching method is the best to understand the course curriculum. Also, they are very friendly that is why the teaching environment here is very positive.

This is not the best college your are looking for.
Placements: The placements are very poor, i.e., it has fewer placements. Some of the startup companies visited the college which shut down after a year without paying the full salary to the employee, my friend was one of them. It is better to write AMCAT or litmus for a job. Don't depend on the college because of the placement statistics are very poor.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not much good. The college had already proposed a new building since long back, yet no steps have been taken. I don't think they are going to improve it. Even the college board is not adequately maintained. Washrooms are like the government hospital toilets. No proper sanitation and cleanings you will find. In case of infrastructure and maintenance, I will give 4 out of 10.
Faculty: You will find most of the faculty are the ex-students. Some of them are good. The course curriculum is good but depends on yourself. The syllabuses generally are not completed on time due to strikes, and other activities. You need to prepare yourself for every situation.
Other: Overall, I will rate 5 out of 10 to my college. The hostel mess is not good. They provide limited food with not so good quality of food. It is better to stay on a PG. The college is not maintained properly, need to improvise a lot. You will not find the reputed companies like TCS and Infosys visiting the college. You need to go for off-campus for that.

Very good college (only in terms of education).
Placements: I won't say it was very good or bad, but on an average, it was good for both my batch and my seniors'. Less number of students were placed and majority were through the off-campus drive. Besides, the college calls some fake companies like Net Profit for the placement, which just dupes money from the candidates. As majority of the companies were from off campus, I think the highest salary that was offered was around Rs. 22-23k and the lowest was 15k. As I have already mentioned, majority of the companies were from off-campus, so very few companies visit there. Roles offered were like software engineer, software developer, electrical engineer etc.
Infrastructure: The following grades I would like to give: Wi-Fi: A++, labs: B-, classrooms: B-, library: A, medical facilities: B, sports: A, games: A. The quality of labs and classrooms is good, so is the quality of food available in the canteen. Hostel rooms are good. I didn't stay at the hostel, but visited it often. Regarding the hostel food, majority of my hostel friends use to dine outside as the taste of hostel food was not up to the mark.
Faculty: It was excellent when it comes to the quality of educations. Professors are very good and the method of imparting the knowledge is very simple. They give notes and take extra interest in helping students. Industry exposure was given to our branch. The curriculum was good, though it needs to be improved. The college till now has not got NBA accreditation.

Other: The infrastructure of this college is average. But still, the classrooms are very clean and well-maintained. But there is no AC in the classrooms. But the labs are air-conditioned. Hostel facilities are available but the hostel is not well maintained. The food quality in the hostel canteen was not good. There is no swimming pool and gym. The placements are not good. Very few companies visit this campus and most of them are non-branded and some of them were also fake. Our college faculty is highly qualified and very sound in their respective fields.
