College and placements, poor infrastructure, heavy pressure, and no internal marks.
Placements: College promises placements just for their reputation. If you are really interested in getting placed, I hope you do not join. 5 percent of students are only able to get placed. Companies that don't have much recognition or the least recognition are conducting recruitments.
Infrastructure: No placement, poor infrastructure, food quality is medium, medical facility is poor, and sports and games are very poor. College only concentrates on education and provides no external support for extracurricular activities. Poor performance in everything and everybody.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified but not helpful. Teaching quality is average, most of them read presentations. The course is industry-relevant, but the syllabus is not relevant according to the industry. Semester exams are difficult and also pressurizing. I hate my college.
Other: Very poor .

The college has an excellent infrastructure, lots of facilities, and is value for money.
Placements: The college Rajagiri College of Social Sciences located in Kalamassery Cochin places almost 5-8 students each month including the big 4 auditing companies like EY, KPMG, Deloitte, and other foreign companies. This college also offers many professional courses like ACCA and CMA along with B.Com honors course. The B.Com honors is a 4-year course, that is, 4th year involving practical/projects/internships which are optional.
Infrastructure: Rajgiri College of Social Sciences located in Kalamassery Kochi has 2 hostels for boys and 1 hostel for girls. They are social hostel, assumption hostel for boys, and Nirmala hostel for girls. All the hostels are equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, television, and water purifiers. The food quality in the social hostel is below average while the quality in the assumption hostel is much better. Additionally, assumption and Nirmala hostels are very close to the college while the social hostel is far away.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful in providing exam guidance. The pass percentage is 40% in each subject including internal marks. 75% attendance for boys and 73% for girls to attend exams. Teachers have a well-planned time table to prepare the students for the exams. In my opinion, the B.Com exams are easy to pass while the professional courses exam requires a lot of preparation.
Other: The biggest event in College of Social Sciences is Splendor which invites all students from all around the country to take part in the events and competitions which include sports, games, art, etc. Splendor is a 3-day event that takes place once every academic year.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) - Batch of 2026

It is one of the best college for the holistic development of a future manager/CEO.
Placements: From MBA, out of 120 students, almost 50 have been placed till now, and results of many companies are awaited. The average package is 6 to 7 LPA, with the lowest being around 4 to 5 LPA, and the highest is 12 to 14 LPA, approximately. Dalmia Cement, Bharat Ltd, Medventure Group of Companies, Litmus7 Systems Consulting Pvt Ltd, Federal Bank, etc., are some of the top recruiters of this course, as assistant manager grade employees, management trainees, sales and operations managers, etc. This year, 40% of students got internships at Axis Bank, Tutor Comp, Bajaj Finance, and more.
Infrastructure: Well-equipped computer and finance labs, free subscriptions to Quillbot, Microsoft, Harvard Business simulations, Cesim simulations, Emerald research articles, CMEI, etc. A gym is available for boys and girls, and a shuttle court, basketball court, cricket ground, and football ground are also available. The Internal Quality Assurance Centre, Placement Centre, and two libraries, an open ground with a wide range of books and other articles, are present. Free Wi-Fi, AC classrooms, and smart boards in all classes are also available. Hostels are separate for boys and girls. Three-sharing, two-sharing, and single-sharing rooms are available, along with executive rooms. Rooms, facilities, and food all meet excellent quality standards. The canteen is within the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are very supportive and are always available for academic support. Mentors are assigned to each student to help track their progress and solve queries. Teachers are well-equipped with the latest knowledge and conduct external faculty sessions as well. The curriculum is up to date, which helps students undertake new challenges and get them industry-ready. Exams are tough, but everything is worth it. If you study well, you can score good marks.
Other: The college does not only focus on your academics but also gives prime importance to building a network in the industry, with membership to KMA and frequent industry interactions. Overall, the college and its curriculum focus on the holistic development of students. Many students have won 1st and 2nd prizes in many management fests. The college has a management fest, Inflore, which is completely under the supervision of the students. Various clubs such as Rajagiri Cricket League, Rajagiri Business League, Rajagiri National Business Quiz, and Rajagiri Transcend are present.

My honest opinion of students who wish to join Rajagiri College of Social Sciences.
Placements: 90% of students get placed each year. The highest package received last year was 12 LPA, and the lowest was 3 LPA. Some top recruiters include Bhumi Foundation, Pradhan, CRY, and Butterflies NGO. Roles offered after the course include HR, project manager, coordinator, etc. Every student gets placed for internships in various companies across India. Some major companies where students have done their internships include L&T, Tata Steel Foundation, and HCL Foundation.
Infrastructure: For the social work department, there are live labs, apart from a world-class library, gym, basketball court, badminton court, multiple air-conditioned computer labs, and fully equipped smart classrooms. The hostel is good, with delectable food served every day, including a non-vegetarian menu for most days of the week. There is a counseling center along with a medical room and a sports department.
Faculty: The faculty of the department is highly qualified and experienced. They use various hybrid methods for teaching, not just theoretical-based but also practical-based. Along with teaching the course requirements, they equip students with the right skills to be industry-ready.
Other: I am interested in social work, and working for people is my passion. This course helps you gain a lot of practical interpersonal and intrapersonal communication skills, as well as teaching and presentation skills that can be further polished. One thing to improve about the course would be shorter class hours, as long lectures can be tiring. Rajagiri has plenty of events, festivals, and international conferences. The college is Wi-Fi enabled, and there are a good number of scholarships available.

RCSS First Year B.Com (Hons.) Student Review
Placements: The percentage of placement is 27%. Since I’m an M.A. first-year student, I’m not fully aware of the package details, but it would be around 3-8 Lacs p.a. The Big 4 are said to provide several job and internship opportunities to Rajagiri students in the fields of finance and auditing.
Infrastructure: All classrooms are equipped with smart screens and excellent infrastructure. The library provides access to several study guides and research publications. Hostel food is average and can get boring after a repetitive menu every week. They serve both veg and non-veg. College canteens and cafes serve snacks as well as meals at affordable rates.
Faculty: The faculty are well knowledgeable in several fields and always approachable. They use experiential learning over traditional teaching methods, helping students become industry ready. B.Com exams are reasonably at a medium level of difficulty, while professional specifications such as ACCA, which I’ve chosen, require more effort and focus.
Other: The 9-paper exemption they provide for ACCA was the biggest deciding factor for me, along with great reviews from friends and family who have already graduated from this college. Splendor is a huge fest, especially for Commerce students, that is held every year and organized entirely by students and provides great opportunities to build connections.

The Rightful Decision for My Future.
Placements: There are good placement programs at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences. As of June 30, 2024, 27% of undergraduate B.Com students have secured their careers through campus recruitment. Many big recruiters like Deloitte US are recruiting from the campus. The average package is about 8,00,000 INR per annum. There are also various internship programs offered by the institution.
Infrastructure: Rajagiri College of Social Sciences has a great infrastructural construction. The building consists of 8 floors and 2 basement floors. There are 2 cafes and many facilities such as vending machines. The hostel is above average. There is Wi-Fi facility inside the hostel. The college also supports sports and other extracurricular activities.
Faculty: One of the most notable things for me about the college was the quality of education they provide. Each and every faculty member of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences is professional and well-trained. They put their full efforts into ensuring that the students understand each and every topic. The curriculum makes the students prepare for the future by also doing real-life activities. The semester exams are scheduled perfectly with the other exams.
Other: There are many events organized by the college. Splendor is the college fest, which is generally conducted in December. It is a huge celebration. I chose B.Com with ACCA, which is a professional add-on course. I did a study and found out that there is a broad scope for this profession abroad.
