B.Tech. in Mining Engineering - Batch of 2026
4.2
It is one of the best colleges for mining engineering.
Placements: The highest salary package offered was 16 LPA. The average salary package offered was 3.5 LPA. Internships are offered at this college. It is a decent college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is great. Laboratories and classrooms are average. Several books are available in the library. Hostel is decent in this college. Sports are conducted. Mess is average. Electricity facility is available 24X7. Hostel rooms are very good. The security facility is very good.
Faculty: The teaching quality is very good. The course curriculum is relevant to make students ready for the industry. Semester exams are hard. We need to study hard to score good marks in exams. Class assessments and mid-semester exams are conducted with laboratory practicals every week. External laboratory exams are also conducted.

I am satisfied with placement and every department.
Placements: As my department is mining, the placements are excellent. Top recruiter for mining is Vedanta. It has recruited 17 students at the highest package of 17 LPA. It visits for our department every year. Placement and training department is also very helpful.
Infrastructure: Our college building looks old but well-furnished classrooms and well maintained desks are there. Our college has a boys’ hostel and a girls’ hostel. Both are well maintained. There are students in both boys and girls hostels. There are two canteens in the college.
Faculty: All the faculty members are well experienced and they explain each and every concept. In one semester, there are two exams, mid semester and final semester. Mid semester exams are of 20 marks and final semester are of 60 marks. Both are very tough and important exams.

Review of Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering, Research and Technology.
Placements: Students become eligible for campus placements after the 2nd semester. There are many companies visited in this college like Nomura, Accenture, Godrej, HDFC bank, etc. The average salary package offered ranges from 5 LPA - 6 LPA. The highest salary package offered varies between 15 LPA - 19 LPA.
Faculty: I have done BMS which is like mini MS, doing MS would give me a deeper knowledge in the management course and help me develop my managerial skills along with practical know-how. Faculty members are highly experienced and some are industry experts in their domain. The exams due to covid pandemic are affected but the college has managed it well by taking the exams on frequent intervals and one needs to study around the year.

Review of Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering, Research and Technology.
Placements: In our college, one company named Vedanta visited for placements, and it hired 3 students and offered a salary package of 8.5 LPA. Vedanta is the top recruiting company for mining course. Training facilities provided in our college are very good, and almost all students get training in their appropriate time.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facilities provided in our hostel make us not to get bored, and we all are very satisfied with the Wi-Fi facilities. The infrastructure is also good. The mess, canteen and almost all the facilities are also very good here. Medical facilities are always available for students, and there is a huge playground.
Faculty: Our teachers are very helpful, and almost all of them are PhD holders and are very knowledgeable. They provide almost all the notes for exams and complete the entire syllabus on time. This course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students ready for the career.
Other: I chose this course because there is a huge scope in mining, and also I want to know about how underground work will be done. I wish that our college should improve online classes for the betterment of students.

Review- In & outs of mining dept. Of Rajiv Gandhi college of engineering research and technology Cha
Placements: Out of the batch of 84 last only 2 got offer letters from Vedanta Resources ltd. And the rest haven't got any placements. The packages were of ?9.3 lks per annum. Some the companies visited last year like CAT vedanta, joy etc. The major reason behind the poor recruitment is because of shear negligance of the management here and poor quality of students who do not raise their voices against it.
Infrastructure: Since the college is very old started in 1983 lacks modern machinery and equipments. And the equipments available are in the last days life. In 2017 with Jio college started giving free Wi-Fi to students but in 2018 the free Wi-Fi services have been stopped since the college haven't paid Jio for it. The basic first aid not available in college even in emergency conditions. The classrooms here are not modern no projectors, no Mike and speakers, even the desk and benches are really old (makes wierd sounds especially in mining dept. ). The bathrooms here are not clean, no ro drinking water. Before taking admissions please first go and check all the above things in depth. Buildings.
Faculty: Here the faculty is experienced but lacks the modern day knowledge. Some of them 55+ age so they don't haven't that energy to teach the students. Especially the faculty members for Rock mechanics, mine support, drilling and blasting are the most uncooperative and friendly. But the facilities for mine surveying 1, mine climate, mine management are the best one. The course is always incomplete in each semester.
Other: College have a 42 acre large campus in outskirts of Chandrapur in babupeth. There are various fests each year here due to our highly active volunteers and cultural secretaries. Most of the students in mining dept. Are from distant places like Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh. The students of other departments of mostly local ones. College have scholarships for sc, St and obc students under various government. Schemes.

Really Good Infrastructure and Facilities.
Placements: I and my batch's placement were gone very well. About 40% of students were placed. The highest salary is about 9 Lacs. The companies like Vedanta Resources, Justdeal, Amazon, Ambuja Cement, Ultratech Cement, L&T company and many other companies visited the campus.
Infrastructure: In college, WI-FI facility is available. Labs and classrooms are very well. For sports, big ground is available. Medical facilities like First-Aid, Ambulances are also available in the college. For cultural programmes, a big auditorium is available. The canteen provide good quality food.
Faculty: The teachers in our college are very helpful to students. Most of the teachers are qualified from IITs/NITs and they have much knowledge. The teaching qualities of every teacher is like professors in IITs. In college, mechanical, mining, civil, and computer technology department are very popular.

RCERT is an average college with some decent amenities.
Placements: The placements were quite tough for most of us. The majority of people failed at the aptitude tests, but only the best of us like 7 people got placed. Speaking about other branches placements, they were fairly good enough for them, and after all its all up to you, The highest package till now is 9.5 LPA by Vedanta Resources.
Infrastructure: The campus is now a fully Wi-Fi campus with all the sports you need like volleyball, basketball, two canteens are also there, and each department has its own buildings. There are a total of 8 buildings & one auditorium and gym also. The gym is closed due to some unnecessary reason. The library is quite good and decent place to study. The hostel rooms are not up to the mark. The quality of the food in the canteen is not worth the money you pay.
Faculty: The faculty are good, only if you are interested in learning. Otherwise, it may not be easy to deal with them, most of the staff are friendly, but some of them are quite rude. The course curriculum is satisfactory. Teaching methods used here are old and need to be changed after all it became Gondwana University, where you can't expect anything.
Other: Events are up to the mark because of the interest the students show, while they also perform well.

Absolutely satisfied because of good placements, good infrastructure, helpful teachers, etc.
Placements: Placements for mining engineering are the best. This year, 4 students (3 from the mining department and 1 from the mechanical department) are selected in Vedanta Group with a package of 9.2 lakhs per annum. From mechanical engineering and other engineering field, there were many placements and many students are placed with packages of 4.2 lakhs per annum, 3 lakhs per annum and 1.5 lakhs per annum.
Infrastructure: Our campus has Jio Wi-Fi. RCERT is well-maintained and an environment-friendly college. The college is very supportive. RCERT has a basketball court, a football ground, a hockey kit, games like judo, Tae Kwon Do, etc. They focus on development in all areas, sports as well as on studies.
Faculty: RCERT has highly qualified teachers who very supportive and humble. But the course curriculum is not up to the mark. Teachers use modern teaching methods e.g. projectors, maps and 3D figures. Maximum teachers are qualified from IITs but their way of teaching is slightly complicated. Under their guidance, many students passed with flying colours and are successful in their life.
Other: Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering Research and Technology, Chandrapur is Maharashtra's 1st private college of engineering. It was set up in 1983. Students from different states come here to take their education. The present faculty team has an experience of more than 30 years.
