Review of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira.

Placements: Our college provides few placement opportunities. A few students got placed in the physics and chemistry courses. Certain press companies come around twice a year to recruit students from either Bengali or English departments. The lowest salary offered is Rs.15,000 per month.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good and modern. The infrastructure of our college is good compared to other colleges under Calcutta University. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and whiteboards. The hostel facility within the college is compulsory for all students. The infrastructure of the hostel is not good. Around 5 students have to stay in each room. The food served in the mess is average.

Faculty: Our faculty members are highly trained and effective in teaching their subjects. Courses like industrial chemistry and physics included firmly practical professors. The curriculum for almost all departments ensured that students could efficiently progress to higher studies. It is an autonomous college. Exams are not much difficult. Questions are based on the previous year's booklets.

Other: I opted for this course because I scored the highest marks in English. This course helps in facilitating diverse knowledge about writers, their unique works, and the style of their writings. Lectures ascertained during the teaching are precise. They should provide an open environment for teaching the course. Many events and fests are held in our college. Swami Vivekananda National Scholarship is provided to economically backward students under certain conditions endorsed by the college.

It is a good college that offers great courses.

Placements: The recruiting companies are Magic Bus, TCS, and Axis Bank. Placement cell is active and gives regular internship and fellowship updates. Students of our batch got the opportunity to avail Gandhi Fellowship. There are opportunities for students to do several job-oriented courses to make themselves ready for placements.

Infrastructure: Our department has a separate language laboratory, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a departmental library. There is a scribble board in our department, on which students can write their wishes anonymously. Hostel rooms are well-maintained and have toilets.

Faculty: Most of the teachers in our college are from renowned institutes like Jadavpur University and the University of Calcutta. Students can connect with teachers personally to discuss different types of problems. Recently, the departments in our college have started one-on-one mentorship programs with specific faculty members. The course curriculum is changed regularly according to contemporary needs. Exams are conducted smoothly, and the results are published without any delay. Around 100% of students pass semester exams.

RKM Vidyamandira - Re-define yourself.

Placements: The students from English department of this college hardly find it difficult to land a job. Our students are well placed everywhere from the government sector to media houses and another private sector. However, like any degree college, this college does not arrange for placement directly except for students of the industrial chemistry department, but the placement cell of this college runs various courses, like training for CAT or GRE, to help students a land job.

Infrastructure: Our college is one of the best colleges in West Bengal regarding infrastructure. It is a regular recipient of RUSA funds along with other government assistance. Each classroom is equipped with a projector . A separate internet kiosk for the use of students has been set up. Their students can have access from 7 AM to 9 PM. For humanities departments, a language lab, and for science departments, well furnished separate labs are there for students.

Faculty: The faculty members are one of the big assets of this college. Only the top rankers from CSC, get chance to teach here. They are extremely helpful and takes great care in nourishing young minds. The classes are held on a regular basis. As per the curriculum, our college reaps the benefit of being an autonomous institution, a status it secured in 2009 for its academic excellence. This autonomy status has helped the college to frame its syllabus and exam schedule run on a semester basis. The syllabus is revised on a regular basis keeping track with the academic changes around the world.

Other: Our college has recently topped the chart in recent India in the survey among the degree colleges of West Bengal, both in humanities and science sections. Our college is however compulsorily residential one, run by Ramakrishna Mission Belur Math authority. For which, the students have to lead a disciplined life here such as waking up early, going to prayer in time. Except for these small disciplinarian issues, a college is an ideal place for nurturing oneself. RKMV hostel life is uninterrupted by any ragging and other issues. The college's alumni members are placed around the world. Three years of rigorous discipline may look away from outside, but inside Vidyamandira, life is truly a memorable journey.
