B.Des in Industrial and Product Design ( Global Pathway Program) 

at UPES School of Design, Dehradun

To get admission to BDes, candidates must have atleast 50% aggregate in Class 12. The accepted entrance exams are JEE Main,  CUET,  NIFT Entrance Exam,  NID Entrance Exam,  UCEED,  UPES DAT, and others. Hence, candidates must have relevant scores in the accepted entrance exams. There must be 50% marks in Class 10 as well. The selection will be based on the Portfolio Presentation and Interview round. 

BDes is provided in specialisations such as Product Design, Interior and Retail Space Design, Transportation and Mobility Design, User Experience and Interaction Design, Graphics & Communication Design, Animation and VFX, and Game Design. Apply for admission as soon as possible if interested to study any of these specialisations. 

The core subjects under MDes at UPES School of Design aim to make students understand the advanced concepts of Design. Some of the core subjects included in the curriculum are:

• Furniture Design

UPES School of Design BDes seats are distributed among different specialisations offered by the university. Under all the specialisations, the university provides an equal number of seats, i.e., 240. Upon computing all the seats, the university boasts a total of 960 seats for its BDes programme.

To be eligible for a Bachelor of Design (B.Des) at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) School of Design, candidates must have a minimum of 50% marks in both Class X and XII in any stream:

Candidates must have a minimum of 50% marks in both Class X and XII in any stream. 

Candidates must also have relevant scores in the accepted entrance exams, such as JEE Main, CUET, NIFT Entrance Exam, NID Entrance Exam, UCEED, and UPES DAT. 

UPES School of Design offers a fair balance of academia and cocurricular. The college has state-of-the-art infrastructure which is capable of supporting technology-enabled learning. In addition to this, it has a partnership with the IED  (The Istituto Europeo di Design), Italy. It is a full-time member of the Cumulus Association and World Design Organisation (WDO). School of Design UPES placement cell offers placement assistance to students. UPES Design School offers student exchange opportunities by collaborating with international universities such as BESIGN-The Sustainable Design School  (France), Le Ecole de Design Atlantique  (France),  IED Italy,  and others.

UPES School of Design offers courses such as BDes and MDes in various specialisations on the basis of entrance. The school offers respective courses for the durations varying from 2 years to 4 years. Furthermore, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria to secure a seat at UPES School of Design. The school offers respective courses at whopping range of INR 13.15 Lacs to INR 43.74 Lacs of tuition fees, which can be considerably expensive for the students.
