B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2023
4.8
Best college in Maharashtra.
Placements: Our college is the best in the Marathwada region; in our class, we all placed in the good package; the average package is 4 LPA, and the highest is 21 LPA. I placed it in Johnson Control as a GET. The top recruiting companies are Amazon, Flipkart, L&T, etc. One thing in our electrical batch that the majority of us placed in IT instead of the electrical core. The top roles offered are GET, design engineer, and system engineer.
Infrastructure: The best infrastructure compared to other colleges in Nanded. Wi-Fi is available in the hostel and computer lab; classrooms have projectors; and the library is the best but crowded during exam sessions. Hostel facilities have a bed, fan, table, drawer, hot water is good, and mess food is healthy. Every year, at a cultural event, sports competitions are organized by faculty and students.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable; they give us a 1-year subscription that helps us improve our coding and analytical skills. Course curriculum is designed by the college itself; our college has autonomous status; the curriculum is based on current tools; and it has become industry-ready. Semester exams are definitely difficult.
Other: I chose this college because it is one of the best in Maharashtra. No, it is best but we need to bring some core companies for placements. Cultural events and days are celebrated on campus.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the placements of core branch.
Placements: 80% of the placements are given. The highest package offered was INR 52lpa. TCS, Endress, and Hauser are the top three hiring companies. The college won't provide internships. Students have to find it on their own. This is one of the most disgusting things about this college.
Infrastructure: The hostel and Wi-Fi are the best. The mess provides the best food, although it is handled by senior students. The area and the campus are just as good, but compared with others, they are just decent. The Wi-Fi services provided in the hostel are very strong.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. Difficulty level of the exams is decent and exams are totally based on the parts that we learn during our course. It is an autonomous college and the papers are set internally.
Other: Core branches have less placements.

It is a good college but not for electrical engineering.
Placements: Mostly all students got placed in IT companies. There were no companies that visit for the electrical engineering department. Students can find off-campus placements but CTC was very low. Some students also prepare for GATE.
Infrastructure: Department was shared with the instrumentation, and the hostel was good with 3 sharing. There were 3 roommates in 1 room. The washroom was attached, and Wi-Fi facilities were also available in the hostel.
Faculty: Faculty members were new in this college, and they were not experienced for electrical engineering. The experienced faculty members were from the instrumentation department, and they do not care about electrical students.
Other: Most classes were combined with instrumentation students. Even HOD of the department was from the instrumentation department. Laboratories were also not good, only the machine laboratory was good. Rest all laboratories were not useful. Students had to borrow equipment from the instrumentation department.

It is a good college, and now it will improve more.
Placements: Placements in our college are good, and many companies hire deserve students. In every year there are more than 245 students getting placements from all branches. The average salary package offered is 3.5-4.5 LPA. Many students get an internship in big companies.
Infrastructure: Our college provides many facilities for students like Wi-Fi and computers at any time. There is a good hostel from the second year, and first-year students are also provided with a good hostel. But the second year hostel is not good. There are many labs in our college, like chemistry, physics and language lab. There is a smart TV in some classrooms.
Faculty: It is an autonomous college where whatever teachers teach in college will come in the exam. So teachers teach well but not all.
Other: I have chosen an electrical engineering course because the minimum intake in our course is 30 students, and placements are also good. There are many clubs in our college, like robotics, Ustav, etc. Many students are enjoying, gathering in DJ, dance, etc.

If you have passion about engineering then you can take admission in this college.
Placements: Placements of my senior batch I. e. 2015-16 was excellent about 80% but after that it gets declined in 2016-17 and 2017-18 batch. Average package of students was about 3.5 lac /annum. Various companies both IT and Core visited to our campus like TCS, IBM, Petrofac, Helps, johnson control. Internship provided by college is in very less number.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of college is good as it provides all facilities like library, reading hall, e-lib, gym, basketball court, tennis court, running track though classroom does't provide that good infrastructure college also provide Wi-Fi facility with good speed. Hostel rooms are also maintained good as it is newly constructed.
Faculty: Almost 70% teachers are on contract basis they does't have that much knowledge regarding their respective subjects but permanent faculty members are immensely knowledgeable they interact nicely with students. Industry exposure is not provided that much. Course curriculum is very useful it is as per GATE syllabus.
Other: National technical events Pragya provide great platform for young talents to show their talents regarding technical field and cultural event Utsav also helps students to show their talents regarding cultural field like dance drama singing.

Disappointed with the faculty recruitment team and placement percentage is degrading continuously.
Placements: The campus placement was at below par, and the number of companies arriving for campus placement was very less when compared to other colleges where my friends are pursuing their engineering. My batch placement percentage was very low, and I can't even tell you that. The guidance by the teacher was poor, and the teachers continuously demotivated the students. They didn't even supported us for our final year projects as per our level and kept on demotivating us regarding our future. The internship from college was not available we had to search it by ourselves. The placement officer had not done her job as per the credentials and only kept on telling that companies will come and we didn't have any other option than waiting. Our final year was completed, and only 3-4 companies came to the college. I was so disappointed with overall placement procedure of college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was good. We had a big auditorium and 24×7 water, electricity and Wi-Fi facility for the students and access to labs in college and especially 16 hours of access to the library during the examination. The college ground was also big, and the hostel accommodation was also very good. The mess facility was also good but needs improvement.
Faculty: As I said earlier, the teachers were very demotivating and kept on smiling at us rather than guiding us. Not all the teachers were like that, but few of them were so bad they even constantly threatened to fail us, and then few of them were so poor in English and knowledge of subjects. They had to look into their notebook or give some irrelevant answers. And the last thing the Indian education system is so much behind the world that there are so many innovative things happening around the world and we are still studying things innovated in the late 18th century and early 19th century. So, in the end, I'll say it needs a lot of improvement or I could say a complete makeover.
Other: Once a year there is alumni meet. The tech fest, cultural fest and other events in sports are also happening constantly, so I'm happy with those activities.

Satisfied with the college, but not with the department.
Placements: Most of the students in the electrical department got placed with IT companies - TCS and IBM. Though the job profile was not IT-related for everyone, but for most of them, it was. Core companies like Hella, PRDC, Ipac Automation, ETS, recruited the students. The average package was 3.3 LPA for IT companies and 1.8 LPA for core companies. There would be a different scenario in the coming years, as the department is growing very speedily.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the institute is the best in class. New boys hostel, new auditorium, new and perfectly constructed college gate, new department buildings for mechanical, computer science, IT and chemical departments, all are amazing and the greenery and cleanliness maintained in the entire campus is up to the mark. Also, the playground with many different sports facilities is available. Talking about the electrical department, the department is new and currently, there are 3 classrooms, 4 machines labs and one computer lab with 20 pcs. Also, a new department building's construction has been started, but it may take around two years for completion.
Faculty: The course is well designed by top Ph.D. faculty members. HOD, Dr. B. M. Patre, himself holds two Ph.Ds from IITs. The teaching staff is a bit less experienced. Most of the faculty members are helpful and have good knowledge. But you always find one or two exceptions everywhere. Being in contact with them and showing your interest in learning helps a lot.
Other: Talking about the college, believe me, it is one of the best engineering institutes in the country. The only drawback is the lack of industrial exposure in Nanded city. Otherwise, this institute gives you no less opportunities than any IIT. Fully Wi-Fi enabled, clean, green, friendly campus with a lot of opportunities. It is up to you to use or misuse them. It is also possible to change your department after the 1st year (If you are one of the toppers) and also you can use Credit Transfer Scheme in the third year to study in top institutes like COEP, VJTI, SPCOE, etc. for one or 2 semesters.

Vishwajeet's review of Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: 60-70% of students got placed in the course. The highest package was 18 LPA. The average package ranges from 5 LPA - 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Emerson and TCS. Almost 90% of students got internships with roles of software engineer and electronics engineer.
Infrastructure: There were various facilities available in the college like Wi-Fi, library, and good classrooms. Hostel food was very nice. Hostel rooms were also decent. There were 2 canteens in the college, 1 dispensary, and large sports ground for various outdoor games.
Faculty: Teachers were not much helpful. But they were qualified and knowledgeable with average teaching quality. Course curriculum was relevant 70%, and it did not make students industry-ready completely. Semester exams were very difficult but vary department to department. Passing percentage was 40%.
Other: Electrical was a good branch in this college with nice placement ratio. College had the best campus life and best events.
