This college has great teaching faculty members but hostel and transportation are not good.
Placements: The college placements are not very quick keeping in mind that the MBBS doctors are deficient in the country. The average salary offered ranges from Rs 40,000 - Rs 60,000 per month depending on the state that students work in. Internships are offered by this college itself for 1 year for which a stipend of only Rs 4,000 is provided.
Infrastructure: Laboratories are well-equipped with instruments and specimen samples in each department. The laboratories are big with enough equipment for all students separately. Wi-Fi equipped library is available for the students from 9.00 AM to 8.00 PM. The library has air-conditioner rooms so it provides a great environment for study. Classrooms are also air-conditioners equipped with average quality furniture. The audio system of the classrooms though sometimes has clear sound and the screen displays are good. The hostel rooms are of two types air-conditioner and non-air-conditioner. Air-conditioner rooms are allotted to 2 students in 1 room while non-air-conditioner accommodates 3 students. The lights and fans are 2 per room in non-air-conditioner rooms with 4 charging sockets. The maintenance department of the hostel is lethargic and takes a long to fix issues. The hostel mess food is of low quality. There is only 1 dish prepared every time and students are not left with many options to choose from. Medical facilities are provided efficiently to students in case of emergencies. Sports and games events are organized only twice a year, but the students are free to use whatever equipment they want to or whatever game they want to. The campus has tennis courts, basketball courts, football grounds, and cricket grounds. The auditorium is still under construction so most of the events are held inside the college building only.
Faculty: The teaching faculty members have skills. Every department has 6-7 teachers out of which at least 3-4 are teachers with 20 years of teaching practice. The interactions are welcomed here by the teachers and they are always available to solve any queries of the students at any time of the day. The result of this is that many students here after passing out can get into post graduations without many problems. The semester exams are not very tough, and the pass percentage is always around 93-94%. The class tests are a lot more difficult to make students prepare more.
Other: I opted for this course because I feel there should be a healthcare worker in every family to help out in times of medical emergencies. Also, the need for doctors in India is intense and the job provides good status as well as enough money to clear family expenses. The only thing I would want to improve in this course would be working hours. Currently, some of the workers are posted for 16-18 hours daily in the hospital which is a lot more straining for the person.
I want to know about the latest cutoff information for B.Sc in Nursing at Shri Sathya Sai Medical College And Research Institute.
