I am happy with my college life and the people I have met.
Placements: I have seen packages ranging from 5–6 LPA as the highest. 2–3 LPA is the lowest in my college. Many good and recognized companies have visited our campus, including Stubborn Factory and others. Some roles were offered in departments related to geopolitics and political issues. Around 9–10 students from my course were placed.
Infrastructure: My course and faculty are very good and have good facilities. Although the college does not have a hostel. Overall, it is awesome. The Wi-Fi is strong, and labs are air-conditioned. The campus has two libraries and a separate reading room. There are also facilities for games like football, hockey, etc. The college has a large canteen where students enjoy.
Faculty: Teachers are very good. They provide us with good guidance. They are well-qualified, experienced, and very knowledgeable. The faculty in my department teaches in a very good manner. The semester-based exams are neither hard nor easy. The pass percentage is not very high. The average CGPA required to pass is around 4–5.
Other: Shyam Lal College hosts many events and fests. It has many active societies. Such as Enactus, Abhivyakti, NSS, and NCC. The best thing about my course is that, it is both valuable and interesting.

Placements: On average, 30-40% students get placed in my course. The highest package was of 7-8 LPA, the lowest package was of 2 LPA, and the average package was of 4 LPA. ICICI Bank and HDB Financial were the top recruiting companies. Over 50 percent of students got internships in my course in companies like Admit and Juspay. Top roles offered were business development associate and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Overall infrastructure is good, like Wi-Fi is available at specific locations only, but the speed is good, PC in the lab are all working and in good condition. Classrooms are clean, library has a good amount of books. The food available in the canteen is good and at a reasonable price, a medical facility is also available, and sports is one of the best in the university.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, well-qualified with a Ph.D. They are very knowledgeable and with good teaching qualities, also they have at least 10 to 15 years of experience. Curriculum is relevant according to Delhi University, but don’t make students industry-ready is the only drawback. Exams are not difficult, but not easy either. A student who studied in good amount can pass the exam easily, with a good CGPA. The pass percentage is 33%.
Other: I belong to a commerce background, so I chose this course as best suited me. The best things about my courses are that it is easy and get you ready for corporate. There should be more practical parts to it is mostly theory only. Events around the college happen from time to time. They are pretty good. The crowd here is quite nice. Connectivity is also good with other colleges. The campus surroundings are a good society. College is directly connected with with road, and the metro is near. Extra-curricular activities like NCC and NSS are also available.

Shyam Lal College Evening: Where flexibility and self-learning are waiting for you.
Placements: I am in my second year of B.Com (Hons.) at Shyam Lal Evening College, so I don’t have direct placement experience yet. The college organizes placement drives, but the chances are limited, and most students need to rely on their own efforts. The average package is around 2.5 LPA, with the highest going up to 6-7 LPA. Internship support is also limited, and students usually find opportunities on their own through LinkedIn or Internshala. Roles offered are mainly in accounts, finance, sales, and operations. Overall, placements exist, but self-preparation will be more beneficial.
Infrastructure: The evening library is small with limited and old editions of books, but it still offers novels, magazines, daily newspapers, and a peaceful place to study. Sports facilities include kabaddi, cricket, football, and more. Students can enroll, and attendance is counted if informed with proper records. NCC is also available, and freshers can join in their first year. The canteen is shared with the morning college, serving decent food and beverages, though prices are slightly higher than average. Overall, facilities are basic yet useful. There is no hostel facility in my college.
Faculty: Most professors are good, especially for core subjects, but they mainly explain key topics, so self-study is important. For optional subjects like SEC or VAC, teaching is often weaker, requiring extra effort. I am pursuing B.Com (Hons.). The course is good with interesting subjects each semester, helping me become industry-ready, but only partially. Exams are held every semester with medium difficulty, requiring assignments, practicals, and timely exam form submission. Forms appear 1.5 months before, with fees around Rs. 2000. From 2025-26, 28 yearly credits are needed for promotions.
Other: I am pursuing B.Com (Hons.); though I initially wanted BBA, it required math in Class 12, so I chose this. Things that can be improved are below: No regular classes, especially for optional subjects, internship, and placement opportunities are limited or self-earned. The crowd is the best, diverse, and your friends will be the best thing in your college, like mine. Fests happen yearly and are nice, scholarships are present for reserved categories or EWS. Some teachers are not good and only teach some parts of the subjects.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2027

Good faculty, affordable B.Com course with supportive teachers and active Campus.
Placements: Around 85 to 90% of students from my batch are placed successfully. The highest package offered is around 12 LPA, the lowest is 3 LPA, and the average stood at 6 to 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies included TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, and Accenture.
Infrastructure: The college has decent infrastructure with Wi-Fi, projectors in classrooms, and computer labs, but sometimes the internet speed is slow. The library is well stocked with books and journals. Medical facilities are available on campus, but for major issues, students need to visit outside hospital. Sports grounds are available, but not always well maintained.
Faculty: The faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive, especially in subjects like accounting, taxation, and economics. They explain concepts with real life examples, which helps in understanding commerce fundamentals better. The curriculum is relevant for both higher studies and industry needs, though it can include more practical exposure, like live projects. Exams are of moderate difficulty, and with proper preparation, most students pass easily.
Other: I chose B.Com because it provides a strong base in accounting, taxation and business management which is very useful for pursuing professional courses like CA, CS or MBA in the future.

Shyam Lal College! Best for your B.A., B.A. honors, B.Com, and B.Com honors.
Placements: At Shyam Lal College, part of Delhi University, approximately 20-25% of students secure placements with higher packages. I know that the average package is 8 lakhs per annum, and generally, management-oriented courses are highly sought after. The college has a great percentage of internships, making it the best choice for B.A. and B.A. honors students.
Infrastructure: Our campus is beautiful, featuring a lovely garden in front and playgrounds on the left side. There are two buildings: one old and one new. Facilities include a canteen, charging stations, a porch area, an auditorium, an NCC practice hall, a music room, and a sports room, along with clean water supply.
Faculty: Our college teachers are very supportive and kind-hearted. They understand our problems and help with academics, providing everything related to our exams and careers. Classes and exams are conducted properly, and they treat us as future assets.
Other: I am very happy to share my experience about my college! I’ve made good friends here, and the crowd is very calm. There are many societies for personal benefits and gaining knowledge, allowing students to be practical in life. Every student is supportive, and events are frequently organized for great enjoyment!

Faculty members are good and placements are like average.
Placements: Placements come in the 3rd year of the course you have to give an interview. According to your skills, they will approach you and give you a job. Placements depend on the students and how many better skills he or she has. The various companies come to the college for interviews, you just have to give your best.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average. I would say because the canteen and washrooms are not that clean. There is no mirror in washrooms and it's very filthy. Classrooms are good. But in summer, there is very suffocation in the classroom because the rooms are small.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good. Teachers are supportive in nature. They are always ready to take queries from the students. Again, the exam pattern all depends on students. If he studies then he will pass the exam easily. If he or she does not study then it's difficult for them.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in this particular course. You should also opt for this if you have an interest in business, accounting, and all.
