It is a nice college, you should also join.
Placements: Here's a more focused breakdown of the placement scene across the key colleges in Siliguri. In 2025, at Siliguri College (Government),14 companies participated, generating 52 offers, and 42 students secured placements. The average package is 3.2 LPA, and the highest is 5.8 LPA. However, independent student feedback suggests only 15-20% of students actually get placed through the college, with average starting salaries of around Rs. 15,000 per month (1.8 LPA). Siliguri College of Commerce reported nearly 90% placement. The average annual package is 3 LPA, and the packages range from 0.96 LPA to 3.5-5 LPA. Top recruiters include Tata AIA, Club Mahindra, Life Insurance Co., and various finance/business firms. The placement rate of Inspiria Knowledge Campus (Private) is around 80-95%, depending on the source.
Infrastructure: Siliguri's top colleges offer decent to good infrastructure, varying by type. Government colleges like Siliguri College and Surya Sen Mahavidyalaya have spacious campuses with libraries, basic labs, and sports grounds. But the older buildings may need upgrades. Inspiria Knowledge Campus and Siliguri Institute of Technology stand out for modern infrastructure, including Wi-Fi-enabled smart classrooms, incubation centers, industry-standard labs, auditoriums, and hostel facilities. Commerce College has adequate classrooms and computer labs, but they are more functional than fancy. Overall, private colleges here offer better amenities, while government ones focus more on academics with moderate facilities. Campus life is active, with cultural fests and clubs.
Faculty: Government colleges like Siliguri College and Surya Sen Mahavidyalaya have experienced and well-qualified professors, but sometimes lack industry exposure or updated methods. Private colleges like Inspiria or SIT focus more on industry-integrated teaching, with guest lectures and skill workshops. Faculty in commerce and management streams are generally supportive and approachable.

Siliguri College is one of the best colleges in Siliguri/North Bengal.
Placements: In the course of B.A. English, approximately 60% students in my course got placed. The highest package was offered in my course. Approximately 80% students got internships from my course in many companies. Top roles are branch manager, HR, and english teacher in school. Top recruiting companies are Bajaj Finance, HDFC Bank, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available, and classrooms are very clean with comfortable benches. The library is full of many books. The quality of the facilities in my hostel is very good. The canteen is very clean and neat. Medical facilities are also available. Sports and games are available.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly and trained. They are intelligent and have sharp minds. That course prepares the students. The semester exams are not difficult if you attend all the lectures, and then the exams will be easy for you. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I chose the course because I love English, that’s why. If your marks are approximately 60%, then you get the Swami Vivekananda scholarship.

Overall, good environment but teachers are negligent.
Placements: No placement was offered, and no companies visited the English department. I don't think any companies would visit to offer placements to students because of college's poor infrastructure. Even if any companies did visit, they would offer very low packages, which I would say poor packages.
Infrastructure: There is availability of Wi-Fi only in canteen and computer lab. Classrooms are average (a little dirty though). There is a library in the college where students can find any material related to the study of their subject. The food quality is average, sometimes they cook well and sometimes bad.
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful and understanding while some are not at all. Teachers are knowledgeable. My only complaint is that some teachers teach only in Bengali and not in Hindi or English, which is very difficult to understand for non-Bengali community. Course curriculum is relevant but doesn't make students industry-ready. Teachers have basic knowledge of the subject matters, thanks to the introduction of NEP. I don't know the pass percentage, I think it is around 70%. Semester exams are easy and can be passed with regular study.
Other: I chose this course so that I can apply for B.Ed program to become a teacher. The best thing about our course is that I get to meet people of different ethnicities and interact with them as this college is a multiregional college. Teachers would be more interactive with students. College organizes grand freshers and social events every year, which is probably the best in Siliguri. Students gather together to celebrate the event and artists are invited to perform live in our college. College is very crowded during the events. Students can participate in different extracurricular activities, which include cricket, football, volleyball, and badminton. College gives opportunities to everyone to participate in it.

Average performing college.
Placements: The college provides different programs for career empowerment. There are no specific placements offered by the college but if you are interested they provide internships. Role of my course is to provide deep knowledge on the subject.
Infrastructure: The college does not provide Wi-Fi connection. Boys' hostel is terrible and same for the food management. Lab is satisfactory and I like to do practicals. College provides smart classrooms. Facilities of library are very rude and all necessary books are available.
Faculty: Teachers are supportive and help us a lot regarding our doubts. Professor helps a lot in encouraging students. Course curriculum is quite relaxing and has little pressure on us to hard work. Examinations are strict and are organized very nicely. As the examination is tough the passing percentage is high, so we have to work hard.
Other: Course itself is very interesting and the professor makes it more interesting. College organizes big freshers union party for newly admitted students and sports day for enthusiastic students.

Good college option in 2025.
Placements: The placement of the college is not so good, and the job roles are not available for the students. The job opportunities are less available in the college. The determined students can still find a way out of this problem. However, improvements can be discussed with the authority and management.
Infrastructure: The classroom presentation is good and vast and the infrastructure is moderately okay. The library is very large and spacious and has lots of books available in the college, such as magazines journal encyclopedias, etc.
I have no idea about the hostel, as I don't live there. And we have good facilities of sporting items and games for students .
Faculty: Teachers are very cooperative friendly and helpful, especially our class teacher and HOD. They help in each and every matter and are highly qualified
Their teaching is of a high level, and they are very cooperative. Every teacher has a Masters degree and many more educational degrees .
Other: I chose this course because it has many more educational opportunities and degrees to achieve and it will help me accomplish my goals. The events are held by the students and teachers together with full dedication and commitment
The surrounding area is very enthusiastic and full of determination
We also get scholarship amounts for students to pursue their education without any problem
The best thing about this college is that if we discuss our issues with the authorities, they will try to solve it as soon as possible.

Siliguri College - My second home.
Placements: I have given a 1-star rating as Siliguri College does not provide any placements as of now. After completing my course, I have thought of completing a master's. I have seen a lot of students who did a B.Sc and opted for a M.Sc here. Later, it is not necessary to complete 4 years. If one likes to leave the college in between, they can do it. They'll get a certificate. If I want to leave after 2 years, I can leave after doing an internship. I will get a certificate also.
Infrastructure: In our botany department, we have good, spacious, and airy classrooms. We have a projector room where slides are shown and taught. We have microscopes, various specimens, and other things needed while doing practicals. We also have our laboratory with chemicals for chemical relations. Our college has a separate boys' hostel and a girls' hostel. I do not live in the hostel but some of my friends do. They have said that the hostel is fine. The food is average. In the hostel, I do not think there are facilities for games.
Faculty: Our department, teachers are very helpful. They always make sure that we understand the topic properly. Our syllabus was completed before exams. They take online classes if the syllabus is pending. Our department teachers are highly qualified. We get important questions for exams. They teach students how to write proper answers to score marks. The teaching quality is very good. Our course mostly teaches students about plants that we eat and how to take care of them. It gives us a lot of knowledge about what to eat. It provides how to cure if there's a disease and how to grow a plant. It also adds to aesthetic features. Semester exams are moderate but hard for me. One thing that I've understood is to write. If you don't write you'll fail. Write whatever you know about the topic given in question. There is no such thing as a pass percentage in college. If you fail in some subjects then you have to attempt the exam again. For example, in the 1st semester, if you fail 2 subjects, then in the 3rd semester, you have to write an exam for those subjects with 3rd semester subjects exam. Again if you fail in the 2nd semester, you have to attempt those subjects exams in the 4th semester with 4th semester syllabus exams. In simple words, it's called back paper.
Other: I am a science student, but I am very scared of physics and chemistry, so I opted for botany at this college. I like this subject. It teaches me a lot every day about food, lifestyle, and what to eat or not. It provides medicinal value. These things are very important in today's lifestyle of chaos and hurry. I think our course is great and I'm looking forward to being keenly interested in the subject. We have events and fests in the college. Two of which are Freshers and Social. These are big ones. They are very amazing and enjoyable. Good and well-known artists are invited to perform in our college. It is very refreshing and rejuvenating. After loads of study, these things are needed. The campus surroundings are good. We have a field where games are played like cricket, football, volleyball, etc. Campus life is good. The crowd is not much. It is fine and, breathable. Our college offers various scholarships to students. Vivekananda Scholarship is one of them. In this scholarship, students should pay Rs. 18,000 every year after fulfilling some requirements like a certain percentage and no back paper. Other scholarships include Kanyashree for girls which gives Rs. 25,000 and Oasis Scholarship for both girls and boys which gives Rs. 5,000.
