Good teachers and an environment for students .

Placements: Basically, in our Computer Science and Technology course, we don't get a decent placement offer. For internships, yes, in our 2nd and 3rd year, we get internship offers from some small companies, but for me, it isn't good. Only one guy from my course got an internship and then a temporary job in that company, but idk the name, sorry. But if you come here looking for internships and placements, then it's not the place for you.

Infrastructure: We have a good library; you can take books and study there peacefully. Wi-Fi is also available. We don't have hostel facilities. We have a canteen, but it keeps changing every month, so more or less, no. About sports and games, our college holds some matches for students like football and cricket, and we get to participate in some good games with other colleges and make good memories.

Faculty: Teachers are good, and their teaching is good. They're supportive and friendly. I can't say that the curriculum here will make you industry-level ready; it's not enough. The semester exam is mid-level if you attend all lectures and study. The passing percentage, I would say, is approximately 60%.

Other: I chose this course because I want to go into the teaching industry, and this college was near my home and had a CST course. They celebrate many events and foster a good environment for students, but if the teaching method gets better, it would be good, and the hostel facility too. Overall, it is a good college.

Review of Siliguri Government Polytechnic College.

Placements: One college is regarded as a good college for Polytechnic. Last year, almost 60% students got their placement with an average package of 2 LPA. The highest package provided is 3 LPA. Our top recruiters are TCS, WIPRO, INFOSYS, and more. Our college provides internships for the top 60% students.

Infrastructure: Our college has good infrastructure. Our college provides some awesome facilities like Wi-Fi connection throughout the campus, clean and tidy labs with more than enough equipment, big classrooms with projectors, a big library with lots of books, and a huge playground.

Faculty: Our college has managed to collect good teaching faculties. All of them are highly qualified, and most of them are very helpful. Their teaching quality is also very good. Our course curriculum is well-modified to make us ready for future industries. Our college semester exam level is moderate with a pass percentage of 35.

Good college for diplomatic students.

Placements: This is one of the best government colleges in the north. Almost 70% of students got placed last year with an average package of 2 LPA. The highest package provided is 3 LPA. Our top recruiters are TCS, INFOSYS, and COGNIZANT. Nearly 60% of students were offered internships last year.

Infrastructure: Our college has good infrastructure despite being a government institute. Our college provides some awesome facilities like full Wi-Fi connection throughout the campus, clean and tidy labs with well-equipped facilities, big classrooms with projectors, and a well-stocked library. We do not have any hostel.

Faculty: Our college teachers are highly qualified. Most of them are very helpful, and they all have good teaching quality. Our course curriculum is well-modified and makes us flexible in multiple fields. Our college semester exam level is moderate with a pass percentage of 35.

Siliguri government Polytechnic review.

Placements: CST students usually have multiple field choices. In our college last year, 60% of students had an average package of 2 LPA. The highest package provided is 3.5 LPA. Some of our recruiters are TCS, Cognizant, etc. 70% of students got internship offers last year.

Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure is not great, but okay as it is a government college. Our college has Wi-Fi. Classrooms are good. We have several labs depending on our topics, but the MOT of the lab computers is an old version. We have a good library. Our college is thinking about a hostel right now.

Faculty: We have a good teaching faculty. They are all very educated. Most of them are very helpful. They have a good teaching style. Our course curriculum makes us flexible for different fields. Our college semester exam is easy, and we can pass just by studying before the exam. The pass percentage is 35.

I would recommend students to join this college.

Placements: In our college, everyone has multiple options to appear for jobs, and we are also guided for off-campus recruitment by top companies. Job fairs are also conducted in this college for students. There are around 60 companies that visit our campus for job fairs.

Infrastructure: The hostel is going to re-open this year. Other than that, the infrastructure for computer science is good. There are 4 laboratories in our department. It also has well-equipped projectors for interactive and practical classes.

Faculty: Faculty members are very good. They always help students with their studies and personal affairs. Even classes during the pandemic were well arranged. They are well-educated and experienced. The teaching quality is also good.

Other: Our campus life is good. Annual fests are also held every year, and occasions like Saraswati Puja, Biswakarma Puja, Holi, and teacher's day are also some of the main events. Reunions are also held for final-year students. Our campus location is easy for transportation. State scholarships are available for merit students. Sports events like intra-college and inter-college are also conducted in this college.

Siliguri Government Polytechnic is a decent college for diploma.

Placements: There are 54 students in our batch, as this is a diploma college so most of the students prefer higher studies and 2-3% of students get placements. Most of the time they get off-campus placements. LTI is one of the top companies visiting the campus. None of the students got internships. Tester and a junior engineer are the top roles offered in our course.

Infrastructure: In our department, everything is decent. Labs are good, and there is Wi-Fi available in our college. Classrooms are also good, we have a decent organised library. There is no hostel available here and we have to stay in PGs. Our college is not very active in sports but every year we go to intercollegiate competitions and we have a carrom board and we can also play cricket in our college.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is also good, The course is not in-depth cause this is a diploma course and not very ideal for industries. Semesters are not very difficult if you study sufficiently you can make a good GPA. The passing percentage is 90-95%.

Other: I chose this course because I like computer science and Siliguri is a very clean city. The atmosphere is very clean and in the city area. I can find many opportunities, so I took admission here. I think our faculty members should be improved because there are no sufficient teachers in our department. We celebrate freshers, Saraswati puja, Holi, teachers' day, and farewell parties.

I am satisfied with the college and its facilities.

Placements: I am new to this college, but I have heard from seniors that good companies come for internships. The packages, ranging from low to high, are offered to students. It is preferred to complete B.Tech after a diploma to get much higher packages. Since our department has low chances in government jobs, B.Tech is preferred after a diploma to secure good packages in private companies.

Infrastructure: The Computer Science and Technology department is the department that is taken care of by the most faculty. Digital boards are used to teach students. Computer labs are also well-maintained, and recently, old computers have been replaced with new ones with good configurations. Teachers are also very good.

Faculty: Teachers in our department are really good. They teach us well and also conduct regular classes according to the provided routine. The semester exams are not too difficult, and the passing percentage is a minimum of 40%. In a semester, two internal exams are also conducted.

Reality of Polytechnic College is very worse than anyone could ever imagine.

Placements: The placement view of the college is not at all good due to its management. They don't teach us the right practical skills to get placed even in small tech companies. Overall, no one should join this college for placements. The college lacks industry connections.

Infrastructure: The rooms, library, and lab practical are okay because it's a government college, which is why it has average infrastructure. Wi-Fi works clearly, but so many computers don't work in the lab room. There's no facility for canteen and has low-quality room. There is just one auditorium room, which is in a great position.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, specifically in my department (computer science and technology). Their behaviour is very nice and they take our classes regularly without even a single day missing by providing proper notes. But that does not make us industry-ready, because the study is all about mugging up theoretical knowledge.

Other: The worst thing is the college fest. Whenever there's a function, the passed out and the senior department get into a fight. There's so much violence that we have to call the police for that. The event management department should be changed.
