SOT PDEU BSc Eligibility & Highlights 2026
SOT Pandit Deendayal Energy University (formerly known as Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University) offers three-year/ four-year and five-year integrated BSc and BSc (Hons) programmes in four disciplines with multiple entry and exit options. Some of the specialisations include, BSc (Hons) in Mathematics, BSc in Data Science and Integrated BSc plus MSc programme.
SOT PDEU BSc admissions are merit-based. Candidates are just required to appear for the Personal Interview round as part of the selection process. Pandit Deendayal Energy University cost to pursue the BSc and BSc (Hons) programme ranges between INR 3.6 lakh and INR 60 lakh*. SOT PDPU BSc fees vary depending upon the specialisation selected by candidates.
PDPU offers the programme with multiple entry and exit options. After the third year, students will exit with a BSc or BSc (Hons) degree and can join the MSc degree programme. Further, students will be able to get the five-year integrated MSc degree and candidates who continue with the BSc or BSc (Hons) degree with six months/ one-year project will be awarded with BSc (Hons) with Research degree.
Candidates seeking admission to BSc at SOT PDEU are required to meet the minimum eligibility criteria mentioned below:
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have passed any of the following qualifying examinations with English as one of the subjects:
- Class 12 examination from any recognised Board of Secondary Education and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi
- Intermediate Science or two-year Pre-University examination
- Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy
- General Certificate Education examination (London/ Cambridge/ Sri Lanka) at the Advanced level with minimum passes of two/ three subjects
- High School Certificate examinations of Cambridge University
- International Baccalaureate Diploma programme with the minimum passes of six subjects with 24 points
- Senior Secondary School examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects
- HSC Vocational examination

SOT PDEU BSc Admission 2026: How to Apply?
Pandit Deendayal Energy University BSc course admission is entirely merit-based for the academic year. Admissions are based on marks obtained by candidates in the Class 12 or equivalent examination followed by the Personal Interview. Candidates seeking admission to the BSc programme offered at SoT Pandit Deendayal Energy University are required to follow the multiple-step process. STEP 1: SOT PDEU BSc Application Process
The first step of the admission process is to fill out the online SOT PDPU BSc application form. Given below is the step-wise application process for the SOT PDEU BSc course:
Step 1.1: Candidates should fill out the online application form available on the PDEU website.
Step 1.2: Upload the colored scanned copies of requisite certificates and testimonials as specified in the application form.
Step 1.3: Pay the non-refundable SOT PDEU BSc application fees of INR 700 through Internet Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card.
STEP 2: SOT PDEU BSc Selection Criteria
Candidates are required to appear for the Personal Interview. The University then prepares the merit list by including 75% weightage of theory marks of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology and, 25% weightage of PI. Out-state candidates may be allowed to appear for online Personal Interview.
While appearing for the Personal Interview round, candidates must present the following documents in front of the Interview panel:
- Admit Card/ Hall Ticket/ Confirmation Mail
- Photo Identity Proof (Aadhar Card/ Election Card/ Driving License etc.)
- Certificates and Medals of achievements (if any)
STEP 3: SOT PDEU BSc Admission Confirmation and Seat Allotment
Based on the performance in the Class 12 Board exams and the Personal Interview evaluation, a single merit list is announced based on the cutoff score, decided by the admission committee of the University and, the selected candidates are required to pay the PDPU fees for BSc which ranges between INR 3.6 lakh and INR 60 lakh* depending upon the specialisation selected by candidates.
During SOT PDEU admission, candidates are required to submit the following documents for the verification process mentioned below:

- Date of Birth Certificate (optional)
- Class 10 passing Certificate
- Class 12 marksheet and Certificate

SOT PDEU BSc Scholarships 2026
SOT Pandit Deendayal Energy University BSc scholarships are offered to meritorious students in the form of tuition fee waiver. A 100% tuition fee waiver is offered to the first two students in the merit for each programme i.e. Physics/ Chemistry and Mathematics with 85% and above marks in theory for the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology in Class 12 examinations. Students must meet the requirements of minimum of 75% attendance to avail SOT PDEU scholarship. The continuation of the fee waiver scheme is subject to maintaining a 7.5 CGPA in the following semesters, without any backlog subjects in case of renewal of the SOT PDEU BSc scholarship.

SOT PDEU application forms are out in the month of January. Candidates applying for BTech admission at SOT PDEU can start applying from January. The application forms are usually open till end of May, therefore candidates can also apply once Class 12 or JEE Main results are announced.
