Candidates seeking admission to SOT PDEU BSc course are required to meet the minimum eligibility criteria. Candidates who have passed any of the following qualifying examinations with English as one of the subjects can get admission to the BSc programme as mentioned below:

• Class 12 examination from any recognised Board of Secondary Education and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination
• Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy
• General Certificate Education examination (London/ Cambridge/ Sri Lanka) at the Advanced level with minimum passes of two/ three subjects
• International Baccalaureate Diploma programme with the minimum passes of six subjects with 24 points
• HSC Vocational examination
• Intermediate Science or two-year Pre-University examination
• High School Certificate examinations of Cambridge University
• Senior Secondary School examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects

Candidates are first required to register for the programme of their choice at SOT PDEU. The school shortlists candidates for most of the courses based on entrance exam scores. SOT PDEU accepts JEE Main or GUJCET for BTech and GATE for M.Tech programmes. Non-GATE qualified candidates are selected based on qualifying exam score and PI round. Besides, SOT conducts written test for MSc and PhD programmes. For BSc admission, both merit and PI round is considered.

SOT PDEU offers UG and PG programmes, namely BTech, MTech, BSc and MSc. Candidates need to fulfil the eligibility requirement to apply for any of the programme. Below is course-wise eligibility:

SOT PDEU admission to BTech is based on entrance exam score.  Candidates can apply for BTech through JEE Main score. Admission to BTech is offered on All India and Government seats (ACPC Quota). Candidates can take admission in BTech Biotechnology through GUJCET score. Once selected, candidates are offered a seat in the university. 67% seats offered under All India Quota are filled based on JEE Main score and 33% offered under ACPC Quota are filled based on GUJCET score. Aspirants need to pay the programme fee after receiving the offer letter to confirm their seat in the university.

SOT PDEU has released the placements for the batch passing out in 2024. As per the latest report, the the highest and average package offered during SOT PDEU placements in 2024 stood at INR 42 LPA and INR 7.5 LPA, respectively. The registrations for JEE Main 2026 session 2 are ongoing at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Students can register till Feb 25, 2026.

The School of Technology at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) accepts JEE Main scores for admission to its BTech program. The admission to the BTech programme is based on the merit list, which is prepared based on the JEE Main score. The detailed application form is made available after email verification. Admission to seats will be determined by merit, reflecting the ranks/marks attained in the JEE (Main) examination. The application process for both All India and NRI seats will be conducted online. Any NRI seats left vacant in a specific branch will be incorporated into the Open category of All India seats for that particular branch.

In 2023, the SOT PDEU cutoff ranks for admission to BTech programmes were 901775 for Electronics & Communication Engineering, 904387 for Mechanical Engineering and 907889 for Electrical Engineering.
