School of Planning and Architecture Student Review .
Placements: We are a batch of 130 students: 96 in Architecture and 34 in Planning. As per my knowledge, a beginner can expect an average salary of 3-4 LPA if their skills are good enough. We have an internship in the 7th semester. There are many architectural firms where we can work after developing our skills.
Infrastructure: We have a lot of facilities, including Wi-Fi, a library with good books, and a computer lab. The quality of food in the mess and the stay at the hostel are also good. We have sports competitions and tournaments held during cultural events. There are different clubs you can be part of to learn, and there are many extracurricular activities.
Faculty: Faculty members have a good educational background; they have amazing knowledge, and the faculty is approachable. The teaching quality is good. Obviously, there is a gap between academics and the market. Semester exams are not so tough if you study properly; the passing criteria is 50% of the total marks.

Absolutely satisfied by the infrastructure.
Placements: More than 70 students were placed in B.Arch. The faculty members here are the best. Students always about the study friendly atmosphere they provide here. Students from here have been placed in many government companies.70% got internship. All seniors told us that no one will be left out during internship. Worth coming here

Infrastructure: They offer the best food in mess. Everything and tasty. They change the catering so that we can taste of food. The hostel is really clean. Every morning cleaners come and clean the place. If we are sick we can visit the room which is available during the day time and there are caretakers who are available 24*7. Our gives importance to sports. We have a basketball court, tennis court, and volleyball court football ground. We conduct sport meets between batches and fun.
Faculty: All the teachers are qualified. Semester exams are conducted strictly. Exams are difficult but not that much. If you are attending all classes and daily along with your work loads you can score more marks. Time management is the key so learn and prepare yourself before knowing about the difficult level of exams.
Other: The place is really good. We never feel bored here.

Overall, I am satisfied with the college.
Placements: People mostly prefer to study masters after their Bachelor Degree. 30% of students prefer taking up Masters, and 50% start taking up professional practice on their own, and a few prefer joining in the top firms.
Some students are offered 30,000 per month, and some get 1 Lac per month. Some may even get more, but everything depends on the talent of the student. As it is architecture, you can't estimate the package as you can estimate for engineering students, but the highest package can be 30 LPA, and the average package maybe 10 LPA. The lowest package maybe 2 LPA. The top recruiting companies are GMR Constructions, Somaya and Kalappa Consultants, Mind Space Architects etc.
100% of students got internships in various companies across India like Mind Space Architects, Karan Grover, Trio-S etc. Junior architect, graphic designers, event manager, and faculty roles are offered.
Infrastructure: The college has limited Wi-Fi, excellent library with 10,000 plus books, and good classroom environment. The hostel facilities are excellent, and you get healthy food and water. Food will be provided both in South Indian and North Indian style. Medical Facilities are available. A canteen is available, but there is no night canteen. Maybe, there will be a tender that may pass on in the future. Sports facilities like basketball and volleyball courts are available.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and caring. All the faculty members are post-graduates, and they are knowledgeable. Most of them are university gold medal holders. The teaching quality is excellent, with different methods. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready.
Other: As I am interested in knowing the behaviour of spaces and want to experience the people relation with structure, I chose this course. You get to know about people, structure and art. I wish there will be no imposing of the teachers' style of architecture on the students. You get a merit scholarship, in case you are meritorious, and there will special scholarship provided by Andhra Pradesh government if you are eligible for SC scholarship. Sportsmeet and cultural fest of the college called Inyan is held once a year. There are special lectures by faculty members from other colleges. The crowd is not much high, and this college offers only 2 courses.

School of Planning and Architecture has a high reputation.
Placements: Students who applied for jobs got them from our college. The salary package offered to students is course-based. Above-average salary packages will be offered for recently passed out architecture graduates in the country. Students are usually offered jobs of juniors architects. SPA has high respect in the job market.
Infrastructure: High-end infrastructure and facilities are provided here. Our institute has national importance, so the standard of facilities provided is on par with it. The academic building is an award-winning architectural marvel. The quality of the food provided in the mess varies year by year since the vendor changes every year.
Faculty: Faculty members here are extremely qualified and highly knowledgeable. They all are always ready to help. The course curriculum is well nurtured. It provides a stupendous amount of exposure to students.

Review of SPA Vijayawada - School of Planning and Architecture.
Placements: Around 5% of the students got placed. A few students went to pursue Masters in good and recognised national and international universities. The average salary offered is Rs. 35,000 per month, in the on-campus placements. Top-recruiter of our college is GMR company. Most of the students got internships on their own. Some were assisted by the faculty members and the college department.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, and students have got good on-campus residential facilities. Food quality is okay. The canteen is good and same goes for medical facilities. Sports facilities are somewhat okay. Being located in the heart of the city, students get to hang out with all the facilities available in the pedestrian reach.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. Some of them try to help students in all the possible ways and to the best of their abilities. Students are free to go and ask any faculty they prefer. They're kind enough to answer your queries. The course curriculum doesn't make the students industry-ready.
Other: The college makes you more creative, interactive and broadens your vision to perceive things. The curriculum should be more industry-relevant. Events are fun, and we celebrate a lot of festivals. Extracurricular activities are conducted.

SPA Vijayawada is a top-class institute of national importance and provides an excellent education.
Placements: Students from SPA Vijayawada got placed very well in top design, architecture and planning firms and companies, research institutes and generally opt for their professional life. As our university focuses on providing practical and research-oriented education, students are very well-equipped with the knowledge which is desired in the field. There is an active placement cell in our institute, which strived to provide great placement offers to students from the year 2018. The placement cell provides website services, email services and WhatsApp group services which are used actively to share information about new opportunities to students. Companies like Godrej, KMV, GMR, CRDA and other reputed companies and government sector companies of the field frequently conduct placement interviews in our university and provide really great job offers to students. Moreover, students who apply for higher education abroad and in India get admission in some of the top universities as SPA Vijayawada is an institute of national importance under the Government of India. It is a centrally funded technical institute, which makes it highly prestigious due to its high standard of education and research output. Students are highly trained and offered with the education of the most advanced standard, which makes them to be preferable. Students also had started their own firms and companies and are doing really well in their field. Every year almost 100% of the students get placed by graduating from one of the courses from our college. Almost 100% of the students got internships very easily during their course tenure at the college. Top roles offered here are designers, researchers, faculty members and other related posts. Initially, the salary package offered varies from 10 LPA to 2 LPA in India depending on the level of performance in the academics of the institute. Salaries offered to alumni abroad are higher based on the countries in which they are.
Infrastructure: Our university has state-of-the-art facilities and is among the top 3 architectural universities in terms of the quality of infrastructure. Our campus got a top international and national award for its design and infrastructure, including the European Award for institute design. Our college also got Best Green Building Award from Indian Green Building Corporation and many other notable prizes and recognition. Our university is also featured in prominent international popular publications and websites such as Architectural Digest and Archdaily. Our college building is designed innovatively, which you have never seen before and which makes it a great place to learn and have college life. Our college is very well designed that it has become a case study for other designers to learn from while designing institutions and generally for other buildings. Our college building has top-class facilities such as laboratories, library, classrooms, etc., with a high-speed internet facility and high tech devices for educational and research purpose. Our university has a great hostel facility which provides a feeling that we are a community and we are at our homes. The mess block is the heart of the university and is used for numerous informal activities apart from eating purpose. The food offered here is one of the best among universities of a similar standard. The menu has a variety of South Indian, North Indian, vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items which are prepared with care to suit the local people. A special feature is that they serve the chicken biryani on every Wednesday and chicken curry on every Sunday, along with paneer and vegetarian dishes, which get consumed within 15-20 minutes after starting the buffet for food because it is highly liked by the students. Moreover, other facilities like sports ground for various games, cycling paths, badminton courts, etc., are also available on our campus. Facilities like swimming pool, sports clubs, shopping malls, stationery, printing shop and other things are also available nearby our campus. As the campus is located in the heart of Vijayawada city, which is the capital city (Amaravati is the real capital which is a new area located on the outskirts of Vijayawada) of Andhra Pradesh state, numerous services are available near the campus and can be accessed very easily.
Faculty: Faculty members of SPA Vijayawada are one of the best among institutes of design, architecture and planning in India. Most of them are either PhD holders or pursuing it and are highly involved in research or practise apart from teaching during college hours. Most of them are highly accomplished in their own fields and have received numerous awards during their education or while working in the field. Faculty members are always enthusiastic about helping students in their study programme if students approach them in the right manner. They encourage students to achieve a very high standard during their course tenure in the institute. They are from all over India and have completed their education from prestigious institutes like Spans, CEPT, IITs, NITs, etc. Many of them got gold medals and trophies for excelling in their study. The teaching quality in our institute is very high as every faculty member pays ample attention to every student, especially in the core subjects. Students can feel comfortable to discuss their ideas and research work with the faculty members, which gives students a different perspective on their thoughts. The advantage of studying in SPA Vijayawada with respect to the faculty members is that there are professors from all disciplines of the design profession, and the professors are highly accomplished in their respective field. So, there will be a possibility for students to undertake a field of study or research as per their choice, which can be a huge range. Students are supported by faculty members as they have in-depth expertise.
Other: Our university is a good place for educational and other events. Numerous exhibitions, seminars, workshops and masterclasses are regularly conducted. A student fest named Inyaan is conducted every year. Every festival is celebrated as well with cultural performances and fairs along with special food items. Numerous extracurricular activities are regularly conducted, and every important day is celebrated. The vibrant student body is also highly active in conducting these activities. As far as campus crowd is concerned, the campus has some of the most intelligent and hardworking students from all over India and the world. Only students who qualify in JEE exams with not less than 98% score get admission here. Students can meet exceptionally talented people within this institute and make great friends. The campus connectivity is one of the best within the city and all over India, i.e., our campus is connected to one of the hugest railway stations in the city and also an international airport. Overall, in terms of category, SPA Vijayawada is a great institute overall and is one of the best places to begin and excel in your life in the design field.

A great place for learning.
Placements: Since it is architecture and planning college, placements are not very popular. Most of the graduating students look for firms matching their interest and in favorable locations and apply. However, from the college end, they prepare a placement brochure which is a consolidated document containing information about students of the graduating batch. This brochure is then mailed to various firms across India to aid in placements.
Infrastructure: Currently, the campus is under development. However, the infrastructure is constantly improved and the hostels are state of the art buildings. Wi-Fi / LAN is available both in hostels and in academic buildings. Transport facilities for commuting, canteen and mess facilities are decent. Sufficient furniture provided in hostel and college.
Faculty: Very interactive course and curriculum with workshops, site visits and interesting course work. A lot of field visits and case studies to understand the course better and to gain hands on experience. Most of the faculty is knowledgeable with good industry insights. However, some faculty is lacklustre and typical.
Other: Inyan is the annual fest which comprises of various events by clubs. Clubs in the university for majority of interests such as fashion, dance, music, theatre, art etc. Every festival is celebrated in an elaborate manner due to the cultural mix and diversity of the institute.

A reputable government college is providing a good opportunity to students to enter into the field.
Placements: Until the batch which graduated last year, there was no placement cell in college. All the students who got placed in the firms had to make their arrangements and efforts but as of now, the effort has been made by the college, and a placement cell has been formed. Talking about the percentage of students who got placed, it was such that all of them who had interest in respective fields got placed, maybe not with good pay but they were placed, while the rest are pursuing further studies. When it comes to internships, the students make their portfolio and apply in the respective firms of their interest, but if somebody fails to get an internship by their efforts, the college takes the responsibility to get them placed in some or the other firm. The stipend provided to the students varied from nil to Rs. 20,000, depending upon the firm they are placed in. On an average, the students manage to make at least Rs. 2000 to Rs. 6000 per month during their internship period which lasts for 20 weeks.
Infrastructure: As of now, the academic campus is under construction, which will be completed by the end of this year. In the meantime, the academic block has been running in a rented building. All the facilities whether it be Wi-Fi, classrooms, library, medical facility, sports and games have been provided well to the students. The quality of the food is average. The hostel rooms and utilities are well and good since it's a newly constructed building. It's in good condition, and the arrangement of spaces are also good. All the facilities have been provided in the hostels. The only issue which was faced in the infrastructure related to academic block and the hostel block, but as of now, it's only the academic block, which is remaining, but at the end of this year, this will also be resolved.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified and helpful. The teaching quality is good when considered as a whole. The student to faculty ratio has been maintained as per the guidelines, i.e., 20:1. The exposure is provided during the internship period in which most of the students manage to get it good, since, they make their effort in choosing the respective firms, in the respective fields. The course curriculum is followed in a proper way, and the things are smooth as compared to the previous years.
Other: The other events include sports week, Hindi Saptah, time to time competitions, which includes such as state level, national level, and international levels, and an annual fest in the college. For the students of architecture, NASA happens annually, which is a competition cum fest which gathers colleges from all over the nation and provides good exposure to the students.
