Honest review of my college.
Placements: The placements are quite okay. Unlike other colleges, in the past, various companies like Google, some BPOs, and many companies came from time to time to recruit students. This puts the college at a high rank, and as a result, the college recruits only qualified students. I could quote quite a number of students who got a job before completing their courses. But I still feel that this could be better so that more students have a future through this institute.
Infrastructure: Hostels are great. It is situated near the college. There are two buildings with separate boys and girls. Some rooms are shared, and some single rooms are also available here. Mess food is also great. It costs a total of around Rs. 8000 per month. PG's are also available around the college, which cost around Rs. 4000 per month.
Faculty: It's a very worthy course, Natural Gases of the Earth. The faculty is great, and they teach us nicely and help us to overcome our doubts. Various practices were done that help us with our further research. I enjoyed a lot. The subject combination of Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English as electives is perfect. We had two to three exams a year, and questions were set from every nook and corner of the syllabus. One needs to prepare thoroughly for the exams, and we need at least 75 percent attendance.

My honest review of St. Anthony's College, Shillong.
Placements: Nothing comes directly from the college. Everything depends on the student to manage on their own. In a way, this is good, as it helps students prepare themselves for job searches later and equips them with knowledge on how to proceed. Big companies like Amazon, InfoEdge, Paytm, etc., visited the campus with great packages, with the highest being 15 LPA this year. Most of the job descriptions were for the role of SDE, which included FTE plus an internship.
Infrastructure: Postgraduate students were given single rooms. They were no other options, for a monthly rental of nearly Rs. 2000. Two-seater rooms were Rs. 1500, three-seater rooms Rs. 1000, and dorms Rs. 500. Food costs were nearly Rs. 50 per day.
Faculty: The curriculum was somewhat outdated, as the field of Information Technology. It requires us to stay updated with the latest languages and technologies, but the syllabus was outdated and needed to be revised quickly. It should also be mentioned that postgraduate students did not get any on-campus placements. Almost all teachers were NET-qualified and specialized in the subjects they taught. The staff was very friendly and young, so interaction with them was very good. Whenever there was a problem, we could approach them personally. The curriculum was good, starting with easy concepts to familiarize students with all the subjects. The teaching methods were also good, as teachers did not assume that students were already proficient. All the positive reviews from other students made me choose this college for MCA.

BBA course at St. Anthony's College, Shillong.
Placements: The college didn't unlock its full potential for helping students achieve success in placements. They only suggested a limited number of opportunities, which weren't good enough for all the candidates facing drives. The moderate package offered was 3.2 LPA.
Infrastructure: Individual hostel accommodation was available for both boys and girls. Both were on the campus, with the boys hostels near the entrance and the girls hostels built in the middle of the campus for security purposes. Moreover, the food provided in the hostels was mostly repeated varieties. Which was one of the most annoying things about staying in hostels.
Faculty: For continuous involvement of students in academic portions, innovative ideas and discussions were conducted regularly by teachers. Teachers were very strict invigilators, not only with the examination papers but also in monitoring the students' regular activities.

My honest review of St. Anthony's College, Shillong.
Placements: Nothing comes directly from the college. Everything depends on the student to manage on their own. In a way, this is good, as it helps students prepare themselves for job searches later and equips them with knowledge on how to proceed. Many of our alumni have made it to Adobe, Microsoft, Amazon, etc. Most students from here are now working with big names in the IT industry. So we can say that once you get admission here, your future is more or less set.
50 per day.

Postgraduate students did not get any on-campus placements. Almost all teachers were NET-qualified and specialized in the subjects they taught. The staff was very friendly and young, making interaction easy. Whenever there was a problem, we could approach them. It was the toughest course I ever attended or heard of. Every mark earned in three years was hard-earned. There was a lot to learn. Professors set very high benchmarks for students. Industry-level assignments were part of the curriculum. Professors did not allow students to cheat or copy internet-available assignments.

The college is full of diversity with people coming from different states.
Placements: The placements are quite good here. Placement training is given to students who are qualified for placement. Different companies all over India come and recruit the best ones. They usually offer a huge amount of salary, and many students have already secured placements through this.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are the best. It has a mini football ground, a badminton court, a gym, and a volleyball and basketball court. It also has a table tennis room, foosball, snooker, and carrom board. The hostel seats are limited to around 200+ students. Regarding the mess, it’s not that good to be frank.
Faculty: I like the curriculum activities, such as the surprise tests conducted in the middle of class. Seminars are organized for each individual for career growth. They provide special breaks to prepare for exams. Class size is 60. The course fees is Rs. 56,500 per year.

Great crowd, fests & college week.
Placements: There were no such things as internships or placements for us, especially in the Mass Media department. The college did not help us in getting them, and we had to find opportunities by ourselves. I did not see any placement cell on campus for our department.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was decent and well-maintained. The canteen was the best part, with three canteens offering affordable prices and a stationery shop inside the campus. There were girls’ and boys’ hostels within a few kilometers. We also had the NE Archive section in the Mass Media department. The campus had a library and auditorium. It had studios, cameras, and other equipment required for practical classes. However, we could not fully utilise the resources from the second year onwards due to COVID.
Faculty: Faculty was good and helpful. There were fewer practical classes than expected. They were strict regarding time, as is typical in the media field. Some professors were biased towards certain students. Our HoD was extremely kind and supportive. We had a heavy workload of assignments each semester, with at least two assignments per week in each subject. We also had theatre classes in the auditorium with many fun activities. We had practicals, internals, and viva alongside written exams each semester. The viva was taken by external invigilators and not by our teachers.
