Candidates applying after completing a 4 year (8 semester) bachelors degree must have at least 75% marks overall or an equivalent grade if the grading system is used. A relaxation of 5% (or equivalent grade) may be given to candidates from SC, ST or OBC categories. Candidates who completed an M.Phil. program with at least 55% marks overall, or an equivalent grade under a grading system, or hold an equivalent qualification from a recognized foreign institution, are eligible to apply for the Ph.D. program.The foreign institution should be accredited by a recognized agency approved by the government or a relevant authority in that country. Similarly, SC, ST, and OBC candidates may also get a 5% relaxation in marks or grade.
