B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2018
3.6
I am dissatisfied because of placements. It has good infrastructure and quality teaching.
Placements: About 3,000 students are studying at our college. The highest salary offered was Rs. 30,000 per month and the lowest salary offered was Rs. 11,000 per month. Top recruiting companies like Tvs Brakes India and non-mechanical companies like Vivo and marketing companies visited our college for placements. Few numbers of students get an internship in our college. Some students got a job in companies like Infosys, Vivo, TVS and Wipro. A top role offered in our course is an engineer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Advanced labs are available, and other college students also come to our college to learn about the machines. Wi-Fi facility is available. The library is used to redeem the books for preparing purpose during examinations after that you should submit it. Hostel facilities are above average, and 4 persons are allowed in one room. Quality of food served to the students is superb. Non-vegetarian food is served once in a week. Canteen, medical facilities, sports and games are available.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were very helpful during the final year projects. They are friendly to us. They are knowledgeable, and some teachers are qualified through GATE exams. They clarified our doubts also. Their teaching quality is excellent. The course curriculum is relevant.
Other: I have chosen this course because I am interested in mechanical engineering. The best thing about our course is there is a lot of vacant with included low salary for our course. I wish the college should improve the vacant with a higher salary and a good role. Scholarships are available for the students based on caste. I got Rs. 4,000 per year for my BC caste. Campus surroundings are connected with all related Anna University colleges. In events, cultural and symposium organised are the best. Sports and games are conducted for extracurricular activities.

The college is good but have to take more steps on placements.
Placements: For my batch there is very few company came for placements. For our senior batch also very less chance of placements. There is no guidance from our college to get internship, we have to search for internship by ourselves. There is a placement cell in my college, but there is no use of it. You have to search for jobs after the completion of your studies.
Infrastructure: Our college has Wi-Fi facilities, well-equipped machinery for lab, classrooms are good, library facilities are there, sports facilities also there. Our college is one of the best College that has most of the machinery for laboratory. The food available in canteen is good. Hostel room also good.
Faculty: The teachers in my college were very kind and they are well educated, qualified as well as knowledgeable. Their quality of teaching was good. There is a smart class available. The course was useful. I don't get the industry exposure.

Placement opportunities need to be improved.
Placements: To study engineering course, I enrolled in University College of Engineering, Villupuram in 2014. Though this college may not be up to the standards of private institutions, it has improved in providing better placement opportunities for our batch. Moreover, students also performed well. On-campus placements are increased compared to previous years.
Infrastructure: As a mechanical engineering graduate, we were provided with ample facilities which even attracted students of nearby colleges to visit it to utilise the resources. Our institution provided good Wi-Fi facility only on the campus, which could be used for academic purposes after the class hours, which helped us to improve our skills. The hostel facility is average, but the maintenance is good.
Faculty: Courses offered here are thoughtfully designed to enrich the knowledge of students who are willing to upgrade themselves. The course curriculum is of value addition, but sometimes students have to grab interest and put their efforts as it is always two-way learning which improves the effect of learning.
Other: Though our institution may not be one among the top colleges, it is surely a good place for any student to understand and experience the college life, especially for those who are financially backward. As it is a government college, it ensured that they follow the policies in terms of fee collection and providing quality education to the possible extent.

Hello Deepak, Your cut-off marks should be higher to get a seat as the admission is not based on the overall scores. If you have a cut-off of 190 and above, then you can get a seat.
