The Education with the Beauty of the Hills of Himachal in Himachal Pradesh University.
Placements: The placement rate here is around 50% to 70%. The average package here is between 3 LPA to 4 LPA, and the highest package can attain up to 8 LPA to 10 LPA. The top recruiters here are L&T, Wipro, Infosys, and many more. My course jobs are mostly tied to government positions. In my branch, internships occur during the 3rd year or 4th year.
Infrastructure: The course curriculum here is basic, and not many highly advanced concepts are made us study here. Designed labs are available for civil students, and a library is available for extra knowledge gain. Decent Wi-Fi is available for all the students. The hostel view is good because it is situated on the hills of Shimla. The food is pretty acceptable and not so oily.
Faculty: The teachers of my department are very experienced, and every one of them carries a Ph.D. degree. My course requires fieldwork, and my teachers are ever ready for field session education. The course is quite relevant and does make students industry-ready. The semester exams are easy if you know the basic concepts of the subjects. The pass percentage is around 90%.
Other: I have no issue with the campus, but one thing the campus can improve is that they should bring strong placement support.

Bachelor of Technology at HPU Shimla is still a mystery.
Placements: Students are eligible to sit in the placement drive in the 3rd year itself, and various companies such as Infosys come for placements. The average package is around Rs 3 LPA. For internship opportunities, students can opt for internships at IITs, SJVN, etc.
Infrastructure: There are different labs available for each trade on the university campus, and Wi-Fi facility are also available in the institute. The library is also present, and mess and medical facilities are available on the university campus. The quality of all facilities is also good.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful, highly knowledgeable, and qualified, and the quality of teaching is also good. Exams are held every 5-6 months, and each exam is of 100 marks. The minimum passing percentage is 40 marks. The course curriculum is also good.

Good for IT and CSE branch, bad for CE and ECE.
Placements: Placement in UIT is limited. They have good placement in IT and CSE, but they have a low rate of placement in my trade, i.e., civil department CE, which was introduced about 4 years ago in UIT, so they have low placement in UIT. Top packages are grabbed by CSE students.
Infrastructure: In workshops, there is limited equipment and cannot fulfil the requirements of civil workshop equipment. There are no proper skilled teachers for teaching here. There are no hostel facilities, and there is no campus of the University Institute of Technology.
Faculty: Some teachers are qualified and skilled, but some of them do not know how to teach properly. I am currently studying in the 3rd semester. My 1st semester exams are not so tough. They do not focus on the skilled and practical knowledge of students. There is no scope for any average student there.
Other: Fest of University Institute of Technology is actually good. They have many festivals like Techniqual Festival, Utkarsh, and Gaddi Group.

The Shimla campus of Himachal Pradesh University.
Placements: The core placement of the civil branch is very much limited. The highest package is somewhere between 9 LPA to 10 LPA. The average package is 4 LPA to 5 LPA. Most of the students prefer off-campus internships and placements. NALCO and L&T are some regular companies that come for placements. The roles offered are site engineer, junior engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: Although it is a government campus, the size of the campus is smaller than that of the other private engineering colleges. The campus provides Wi-Fi but at a basic speed. The labs are okay but the maintenance is very low. The classrooms are generic. The library is useful it is open most of the time. The hostel affordability is quite a problem because there are limited seats in hostels.
Faculty: The faculty members are academically very intelligent and always helpful to every student. The course curriculum is quite relevant and it helps students to improve their skill set to a certain level. The semester exams mostly focus on the university courses and it is somewhat difficult for those who take academics for granted.
Other: If you get enrolled for civil engineering, start preparing for GATE and other exams because it provides a good atmosphere for those kinds of exams.

Review of UIT Shimla from a student.
Placements: Only a handful of students, around seven, get selected from Civil and Electrical Engineering. However, if you are opting for CSE or IT, almost all students get placed, except a few. It is mainly a college for IT and CSE professions. The highest package is around 14 LPA, and the lowest is around 4 LPA. Companies like TCS, Wipro, and some local brands recruit students. Around 11–15% of students get internships if they apply. I cannot think of any top roles from my branch, but most students from Civil or Electrical either prepare for government exams or join family businesses in these fields.
Infrastructure: The college has a single building with all the branches and very little lab equipment. The classrooms are average, and the HPU library is a national-level library, which is a positive point. There is no hostel and nearly no campus other than HPU. The food quality in Shimla is worst. I do not understand why there is no good food available there.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching is good for most of them. The exams are of moderate difficulty, neither too tough nor too easy. Most students get good grades according to themselves. The course curriculum is relevant. Most of the time, classes are given priority for practical lessons, although some teachers prefer theory.
Other: I wish the college had a bigger campus, its own hostel, and better facilities. Events like Utkarsh and others are the best in Shimla and are the highlight of the year.
