It is an average college with basic facilities.
Placements: Almost 60% of the students were placed from our college, which was quite good. The highest salary package offered was 6 LPA. The average salary package offered was 3.3 LPA. Most students were placed in Capgemini and Wipro. Capgemini, Wipro, and Infosys are the top recruiters. Only Wipro visited our campus for placements, and for other companies, we visited different universities. Roles of project engineers are offered.
Infrastructure: There were good facilities. Wi-Fi, labs, and a library were there. There were no hostel facilities. We used to live in paying guest accommodation or rented rooms. The medical and sports, canteen facilities, were not that impressive. It could have been much better.
Faculty: Teaching faculty members here were not that good. Only some teachers were good, and others were just passing the time. There was no enthusiasm among them to teach us. They were not willing to teach barring some exceptions. The course curriculum was outdated. It should have been updated to include the latest things going on.

Review of University Institute of Information Technology, Himachal Pradesh University.
Placements: Now there are 5 branches, and the new ones are civil, ECE and EE. The highest salary package offered from technology companies is 12 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is not mentioned, but it may be 2.5 LPA, and the average salary package offered is a mystery. I think 50% of students got jobs, and no official data is launched by the university. I am studying here, and it is all my experience. About 5-6 companies visit the campus now.
Infrastructure: The college does not provide hostel. The college has 4 storey building and separate university campus. But student enjoys all the facilities of the university except hostel facilities. In Shimla students live in PGs and on an average around Rs. 6,000 students got a good PG.
Faculty: Faculty members try their best for students, and they improve college day by day. Last year a new director was appointed. That director focuses on studies and improving the college. Classes are conducted, but it depends upon teachers and students. But probably students have to do self-study.

A great place to learn and enjoy your college life.
Placements: Placements were good for our batch as well as our senior batches. Around 60-70% of the students get placed every year. Most of the unplaced students are the ones who opted out of placements because of their own reasons. Companies like Capgemini, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, etc., visit the college regularly and recruit a good number of students for software engineering roles. There is a proper placement cell, and a placement committee is also constituted every year.
Infrastructure: The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. There are proper labs, good classrooms, a huge library and medical facilities, though there is the least emphasis on sports from the administration. Food provided in the canteen is average, and there is no hostel facility provided.
Faculty: Teachers are highly cooperative and very helpful in every aspect. They are well-qualified to teach the respective courses. Teaching quality is good. The faculty to student ratio is 1:22. The college can help you in getting industry exposure if you are willing to and ask for it.
Other: Various events are organised throughout the year by student council which includes fresher's party, college fest called Utkarsh which has a footfall of around 1,000 people for 2 days, annual sports meet, farewell, annual dinner, etc. Various festivals are also celebrated. The campus crowd is good with good gender diversification.

It offers satisfying programs, good placements and basic facilities in this beautiful hill station.
Placements: Placements in the college are decent. The head of the placement cell works hard enough to get a good amount of organisations to recruit students. If interested, you can get yourself placed with the help of a placement coordinator. Also, the salary packages offered are satisfactory because of visits by companies like Wipro, Tech Mahindra and Cognizant.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is not very big but is satisfactory and is widely spread through the pine jungles of Summer Hill. The campus is in the state university, so it is well-maintained with proper seating arrangements in classrooms. It has its own library along with the HPU library. The college doesn't have a canteen and hostel of its own, but small food outlets are everywhere in that area. Sports meet is held every year. You have to arrange your own accommodation such as a PG or a rental apartment which are available easily.
Faculty: Teachers in college are very helpful. Faculty members here are divided into two sections, namely permanent lecturers and guest lecturers. Quality of permanent lecturers is good. Guest faculty members are also good in their teaching methodologies. They keep on rotating as they are temporarily there. The faculty to student ratio is 1:50. Industry exposure is also necessary for the summer internship programme.
Other: Campus crowd and surroundings are nice. Scholarships are offered to the students who have 70% or more marks in their 12th class. A college fest is organised every year which includes tech fest as well as extracurricular activities.

Average college after you disqualify JEE.
Placements: Companies like Wipro Infosys IGATE HCL Technologies Tech Mahindra Impetus HP come for placements. Practical knowledge you recieve is 45%. Ensure that you do your internships. On campus placements by only infosys and wipro. For others you have to go off campus. But its a government. College so you have your back. ?
Infrastructure: The building is 4 floor building with lack of classrooms. Wi-Fi is good. Sports and games ZERO. Labs in good condition. Library in the campus is too small but the main university library is quiet good. Medical facilities are provided. No hostel facilities not even for girls. Food in college canteen is not bad.
Faculty: Teachers are good, friendly and helpful. Most teachers are well qualified but only impart you theoretical knowledge. Practicals you have approach to zero. Thus is my 3rd semester and except for phy and maths I don't think I studied anything else in college. Classes nhi lgti h.

Good placements every year and a great college to be graduate from.
Placements: Approximately 60 students are placed in Wipro, Capgemini, Clicklabs and Infosys from the 2017 batch. Wipro and Clicklabs visited the campus for placements. The packages offered varied from 3 LPA to 3.60 LPA. There is a placement cell managed by students with the help and guidance of TPO. The cell is very helpful when we went for off-campus placements. Roles like software engineer, system engineer, service engineer are offered to the students.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi and LAN facilities are available with speed of 70 Mbps. A library is available in the institute, and we also have a big university library. Labs are good with i5 and i7 systems. Classrooms are also good but not the best. Hostel facility is not available. Quality of food in the university canteen is okay, but other shops are also available with good food at reasonable prices.
Faculty: Regular faculty members are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable, but the guest faculty are not that good. Teachers use the lecture-based system to teach. There is little or no industry exposure. You have to get it on your own. The course curriculum is useful but not that good. Overall, teaching quality is okay, but it depends on how the students study in college.

UIIT - summed up -2015, happy to be the alumni of this college.
Placements: Placements we're good during our time. Almost 90% of the students were placed in companies like Infosys, Wipro, L & T Infotech, HP, Cybage, TCS, Gate, Capgemini. The average package was around 3.4 lacs per annum. Two Students were offered a package of 6 lacs in a company named Interactive Brokers. Roles offered were of Software Developer. Internships were't offered through college. Students had to manage it off their own. Many of us did some self funded courses from private organisations to enhance our programming skills etc. Placement team is formed in 6th semester which is headed by our Placement coordinator Dr. Dhirender Sharma alongwith a team coordinator. I'd say the team worked quite hard to get each one of us get placed.
Infrastructure: The Newly constructed building for Uiitian's is awesome and is isolated from other departments which I think provides a very pleasant atmosphere for students to carry on their studies and activities easily. Labs are good. Wi-Fi Facility is available. Canteen is not in the vicinity but private shops for eating are available. During our tenure we had to manage in Bio tech department's basement as new building was under construction.
Faculty: Permanent Faculty is excellent. Dr. SHYAM (Physics), Dr. Praveen Sharma (Maths), Balvir Thakur (Data Structures), Sunil Kumar ( C+ ). These are the pillars of UIIT and you can seek help regarding your queries from them anytime. Teaching methods varied from using projectors and simulators to use of white boards for detailing algorithms and concepts. Practical work was carried out in labs as well as in form of assignments. Industry Exposure was nill to be very honest till the end of the degree. Only Exposure was after college.
Other: We have 2 days Technical and Cultural Annual Fest - Utkarsh followed by Annual dinner on the closing of the session. Sports meet is organised by the ETSA ( Engineering Technology Student's Association). Students with top percentages in their 12th class academics and those who are economically backward gets tuition fee wavier.

A decent college to study in.
Placements: The placements were up to the mark with a decent package. You can't say they are great but better than most of the colleges in the same league. Also, the teachers help with all the placement stuff, so the placements are good, and if you work hard, you can end being placed with a decent job offer in your hand.
Infrastructure: UIIT lags in infrastructure, even though after the completion of a new building, it is not up to the mark in infrastructure. Though every floor has toilets, Wi-Fi, the thing is it doesn't have classrooms for all the batches. Some batches have to sit in the lab for lectures. The lab is good with decent computers, and the number of computers is also good as I never found someone who doesn't have a computer to work on. The internet is fast, but only on wired connection, Wi-Fi is slow.
Faculty: Some of the teachers are super great. They have awesome teaching experience, and their teaching skills are just great, and they help you with your study and other things. Some teachers are not up to the mark, they don't even have their own basics clear, and teaching skills are just bad. Some teachers give you life experiences, exposure, etc.

There is no migration between Universities and Courses. Complete your B.Sc. and then you will be eligible for lateral entry to direct 2nd year. There is no legal way around it.
