Velammal Engineering College Scholarships and Funding
BC/MBC/DNC Scholarship-
The scholarship is given by BC/MBC/DNC Welfare Department (Govt. of TN) to BC/MBC/DNC students
Eligibility- Income Limit should be Less than 1 Lakh (Management quota students are not eligible).
SC & ST Scholarship-
The scholarship is given by Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department (Govt. of Tamil Nadu) to SCA/SC/ST Students.
Eligibility-Income Limit should be Less than 2 Lakh.
Merit cum Means Based Scholarship to Minority Students-
The scholarship is given by Department of Minorities Welfare (Govt. of Tamil Nadu) to Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Jain, and Buddhist students.
Eligibility-a)Income Limit should be Less than 2.50 lakh. b) Marks 50% & above in HSC
Scholarship for the students – Ministry of Labour & Employment (Govt. of India)-
The scholarship is given by the Ministry of Labour & Employment (Govt. of India) to Children of Beedi/ Cine/ Mineworkers.
Eligibility- Income Limit should be Less than INR 10/- per month
First Generation Graduate Concession-
First generation undergraduates in Tamil Nadu, irrespective of their caste or income, will not have to pay tuition fees as per the free education scheme announced by the Tamil Nadu Governor Hon. Dr.Surjit Singh Barnala.
Eligibility- The student should be the first graduate in the family (There should not be graduates in the family for the previous two generations).

Placements: Actually, the college is helping a lot with placements as well as training for students. They put their effort into making students get placed. 98% of students are getting placed every year and remaining percentage of students are moving to higher studies. The highest package offered by Amazon is 44 LPA, and other companies are providing with an average of 4 LPA - 4.5 LPA.
Placements: In the batch 2020 to 2024, around 80% of students got placed in top companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, IBM, Microsoft, Google, Flipkart, Cognizant, Accenture, etc. The highest salary package offered is 25 LPA by Amazon. The lowest salary package offered is 8 LPA. The average salary package offered is 15 LPA.
Placements: Most of the students got placements in different companies. Zoho is one of the companies that will not see the CGPA or HOA (history of arrears). Everyone will get 100% placements in top companies. Top companies prefer top roles like R&D department including roles like manager, etc.
Placements: Our college has good placement facilities and training. The percentage of students who got placed in our college is 73 percent. The highest package offered in our college is 30 LPA. The lowest package offered is 4 to 6 LPA. Recruiting companies are Capgemini, KPMG, Google, and Amazon. The internship opportunities in our course are 74 percent.
Placements: In the year 2024, 90% of Velammal students were placed. Placement is really good, and everyone gets placed. Some students with backlogs or who are interested in higher studies or business opt for those fields. The top companies that recruit are Zoho, TCS, Wipro, Presidio, and Amazon. Over 50 companies come for placement every year. The highest package was 9.2 lacs, and the average package is around 4 lacs per annum.
Placements: Maximum number of people getting interns, and sometimes they paid us for interns, and mostly freshmen not getting top roles; they get only freshmen roles in companies, and 80 percent of students getting placements, and not too much difference between average packages and the lowest packages.
