School of Law was established in 2015 with a motive of disseminating knowledge related to the Law among students. It is a part of VELS Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS). The School is approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI).
The School offers Integrated LLB, LLB and LLM programmes in various specialisations. Apart from this, it also conducts co-curricular activities, such as moot competition, dispute resolution training and negotiation training. It also organises legal awareness camps. Scholarships are offered to students based on marks scored in Vels Scholarship Admission Test (V-SAT). The Scholarships are offered to students, who have completed Class 12. School of Law, VISTAS offers this scholarship to top 500 students, based on their V-SAT score. The top 500 students get 100 per cent tuition fee waiver and rest of the participants get up to 75 per cent tuition fee waiver, depending on their scores.

Vels Student Aptitude Test(VSAT) offers the choice of education to students from various walks of life. On average, nearly 10,000 students from all over India competes to avail themselves of the scholarship. The test duration is 45 minutes and it follows the pattern of Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal and Logical questions. Based on the secured percentage, the scholarship is offered in a range from 10% to 75% waiver in fees. Students with exemplary marks are given full fee concession for the entire course period.
Merit Scholarship :
Students’ who secured a distinctive percentage of 90-95 in the 12th exams (Senior Secondary) in both CBSE and State Board are honoured and motivated by providing them with fee waiver through Merit Scholarship Scheme. Every year up to ten eligible students can avail the fee waiver.

Both the AP LAWCET and CLAT entrance exam are conducted for admission to the Law schools in India, however, the syllabus for these exams are different on many parameters and candidates should strategise differently for both the exams. AP LAWCET exam has sections including Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude, Contract Law, Constitution, etc. and the CLAT entrance exam sections include English Language, Legal Aptitude, Mathematics, etc. AP LAWCET does not have mathematics subjects, AP LAWCET exam focus more on regional knowledge.
