
September 05, 2024: In honor of the 132nd birth anniversary of Padma Shri Dr. S. R. Ranganathan (Father of Indian Library Science), XLRI Jamshedpur celebrates ‘National Librarians’ Day’ at the Sir Jehangir Ghandy Library on August 14, 2024. The celebration was highlighted by Chief Guest Fr. S. George S.J., Director of XLRI, who honored Dr. Ranganathan by garlanding his portrait. Guest of Honour Shri Ravi Shankar Shukla IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Seraikela Kharsawan, Jharkhand, and Prof. Giridhar Ramachandran from the Marketing Area, along with Mr. D.T. Edwin, Head of the Library, also paid their respects.
Fr. S. George, S.J., introduces the ‘Discovery Service’ and ‘ERMS’. Shri Ravi Shankar Shukla IAS unveiled the new Human Library and acknowledged the contributions of librarians. He also awarded prizes for the Library Quiz held on August 7, 2024, and presented Fr. S. George with a signed copy of "Covid–19 Governance in India Series – I," a book featuring a chapter co-written by Prof. Giridhar and Shri Shukla on "Technology Interventions for Fighting COVID-19 in East Singhbhum."
Mr. D.T. Edwin highlighted the features of the ‘Discovery Service’, a unified search portal for online resources, and the new Electronic Resource Management System, which streamlines previous manual processes. He also introduced the Human Library, where participants engage directly with individuals. The library staff was honored with gifts in appreciation of their dedication throughout the year.
XLRI Jamshedpur Announced a New Partnership with eVol Founded by XLRI alumni
August 28, 2024: In the 75th foundation year of XLRI Jamshedpur, the institute partnered with eVol. This platform has been founded by XLRI alumni Varun Bhatia and Raghav Singh, with Sudip Mallik who is involved in leading their India operations.
This collaboration aims to provide valuable insights and a fulfilling learning experience to students. It will directly cater to students' problems, which will ultimately enhance the XLRI experience among the learners. The eVol is an innovative platform that has designed proprietary Compasses that explore personal purpose and energy drivers of students.
July 4, 2024: On April 8-10, 2024, XLRI Jamshedpur arranged a Doctoral Colloquium on the theme of Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability as part of its 75th Year Platinum Jubilee Celebrations. During the 3-day event, 5 countries: India, Nepal, Oman, Spain, and the UK submitted 117 papers.
Over review, 62 papers were visited for presentations - 19 doctoral scholars from XLRI Jamshedpur and 43 doctoral scholars associated with other universities and institutions. The 62 papers were separated across 7 tracks and 14 paper presentation sessions. For each of these seven tracks, there were seven best paper awards given out at the event. During the event's closing ceremony, the winners of the Best Paper awards were announced.
Mr. Manik Chandra Dey (Fakir Mohan University, Balasore) received the award in Finance track, Mr. Kumar Rohit (Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam) in Marketing track, Mr. Sai Naveen (Sri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Anantpur) in Human Resource and Organization Behaviour (HR/OB) track, Ms. Soumita Ghosh (XLRI Jamshedpur) in Operations track, Ms. Rishika Raj (Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur) in Sustainability and Policy track, Ms. SWATI AGARWAL (XLRI Jamshedpur) in Strategy track, and Ms. Pooja Kewalramani (Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra) in Entrepreneurship track.

XLRI Sets Up Centre for Gender Equality and Inclusive Leadership at Delhi-NCR Campus
March 8, 2021: Keeping up with this year's Women's Day theme – Women in Leadership: Achieving an Egalitarian Future in the Covid-19 Community, the Xavier Institute of Management is setting up a Center for Gender Equality and Inclusive Leadership at its Delhi-NCR campus. The move comes as part of a deliberate push by the institute to make a positive impact on women's participation in economically profitable practices. The centre was inaugurated toady during the International Women’s Day celebrations at the school campus. The centre would aim at encouraging women's engagement in economic activities and help bring more balance to society.
Professor Shreyashi Chakraborty, an Assistant Professor at XLRI who specialises in organisational behaviour, will lead the new centre.
Inequalities, diversity recruitment strategies in Indian workplaces, and women's employment perspectives are among her core research concerns. In 2017, she was also awarded the Emerald Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award in HRM.

The XLRI waitlist movement is usually high for Delhi campus between 350 to 600 spots. For Jamshedpur the movement is low between 100 to 180 for BM and 130 to 230 for HRM.
