FDDI AIST 2021 exam cancelled: Check revised selection criteria for BDes admission here
The Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) has cancelled the FDDI All India Selection Test (AIST) for 2021-22 academic session in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. BDes applicants will now be selected on the basis of on their aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.
An official notice of the FDDI read, “In view of various instructions and guidelines issued by the Centre and state governments with regard to COVID-19, FDDI recently reviewed the prevailing situation and found that because of continuous lockdown in various parts of the country, it will be difficult to hold the All India Selection Test (AIST) for the 2021-22 academic session. Therefore, the FDDI has decided to cancel AIST."
Revised selection criteria for admission to BDes 2021-22
- Candidates applied for undergraduate programmes (BDes/BBA) will be assigned ranks (General, reserved, EWS, and PH) based on their aggregate per cent marks scored in all subjects in Class 12 (or equivalent)/three-year AICTE approved diploma.
- If aggregate per cent marks of two or more candidates are same, then the older candidate as per date of birth will be ranked higher.
- A merit list will be prepared on the basis of above criteria, and candidates will be assigned campus and programme based on their choice, merit, and availability of seats through a counselling session for which the institute will issue guidelines in due course.
The candidates who have already submitted application on the admission portal need to provide information as mentioned in the revised selection criteria. They can provide the information at https://applyadmission.net/fddi2021/ using their existing username and password from July 31, 2021, till August 10, 2021.
What is FDDI AIST?
FDDI conducts All India Selection Test (AIST) to offer admission to interested candidates in professional programmes in Footwear Design, Leather Goods & Accessory Design, Fashion Design and Retail & Fashion Merchandise. FDDI entrance exam 2021 will be held as a Paper Based Test (PBT). On the basis of their performance in FDDI entrance exam, aspirants were offered admission in master’s degree programmes, bachelor’s degree programmes as well as integrated programmes at FDDI.
