This college is a good choice for design enthusiasts.

Placements: About 90% of students got placed in the course. The highest salary package offered is 22 LPA for accessory design, and the lowest salary offered is Rs. 14,000 per month. Some top recruiting companies like Tanishq, Manish Arora, Ogilvy and many other design-based companies visited the campus. Students can also go to other centres and can attend the placement there.

Infrastructure: The college tries to offer all the facilities in the space available. The campus is Wi-FI enabled along with sitting areas made for working, and all these workspaces have plug points there. Water coolers and washrooms are provided in every corner at each floor, and a full resource library is also provided. Classrooms are equipped with projectors, air-conditioners and proper lights. For each department, they have proper labs like for fashion design department. They have a sewing lab, for the textile design they have a weaving lab with handlooms and another lab for printing. Likewise, for fashion communication, they provide photography lab with all the resources required. The mess has three floors with siting area for all, and food is good and eatable. The college offers medical insurance to all students. There are societies for different extracurricular things like drama, modelling, sports, music and dance.

Faculty: The new curriculum at NIFT includes specialisation in our course. Two choices are offered in each course. Other than that, common subjects keep going on. A new type of subjects like general electives which includes subjects like historical walk, dance, yoga, etc., are included to reduce the burden of students. Other than this you have to select inter-department one subject.

Other: Exams are not conducted in any design course. Juries are available, so at the end of every semester, students have to present their work in front of a jury of 3-4 people.

An affordable fashion degree.

Placements: Being the first batch (2013-2017) of fashion communication department the placements offered was good. 80% of the students got placed in good and well-known companies through the campus or off-campus. Rest of the students are pursuing masters in or outside India. Fashion communication department offers a variety of courses that are not nearly possible for the other departments and gives an individual an opportunity to choose what is best for him/her.

Infrastructure: The facilities at NIFT, Gandhinagar, is considered one of the top colleges of fashion in India. One can use Wi-Fi in any place inside the campus with good Mbps. All the classrooms and studios have ACs, projector and the medical its. The food in the canteen is good quality on reasonable price.

Faculty: The faculty members are well qualified, experienced and cooperative came from the fashion, design, arts or business background. NIFT conducts weekly or monthly workshops with experienced people visiting from the big companies who share their experience and give directions to the students to choose the perfect career. NIFT gives an individual a good knowledge of fashion and design world starting from stretch along with the practical knowledge through programmes like internship and graduation projects with multinational companies. NIFT fashion communication graduates take jobs in the field like fashion design, product design, interior design, graphic/web/ visual design, marketing, advertising, filmmaking, art direction, fashion journalism, creative writer, stylist, fashion blogger, fashion photographer, e-commerce or even entrepreneurship. Big names like Manish Malhotra, Manish Arora, Ritu Kumar, IKEA, Amazon India, House of MG, Vogue India and Adidas, etc.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for Situation Test based on the score obtained in CAT and GAT.

Admission is through counseling based on the rank obtained in CAT/ GAT score and performance in SituationTest.
