I chose Interior Designing as my course of study in school itself, as I wanted to do something that would interest me. In school, we used to have workshops for different courses but never had any for designing course. But I wanted to do something different, and so I decided to do interior designing anyway. I like to design and place different things in the interiors. I chose Ansal University for my course as it is one of the best universities and provides students with opportunities. It has the best faculty and resources. It gives placement guarantee and provides all the facilities required by the students. It has big classrooms and good infrastructure. The university is really big.

My Admission Journey

I cracked admission to my college by giving an entrance test. Also, they saw my portfolio in which there were drawings that I had made. skills. I gave one entrance test and one interview. In the test, they gave 5-6 questions in which they asked us to give design solutions for the problems in the space. Some questions  design a space according to the given instructions.

I had taken coaching for the preparation, in which I was taught drawing and designing methods.

The best way to prepare for an entrance is to first know your strength and then learn the things which you are weak in. Put your best work in your portfolio, as they see the portfolio very closely and it plays an important role in the admission. During the admission, they see the best in you and calculate if you are worth a seat in their college. So, during the test, show the best in you and don’t show the weaknesses that you have. At the time of the interview, be confident and don’t be nervous. Answer the questions directly, never indirectly, and give straight and simple answers. Don’t look here and there during the interview, always look in the eyes of the interviewer. Choose the best college which has the best facilities.

Learnings & Insights

My college life is going very well and is very interesting. I am learning a lot of new and interesting things from the faculty. The faculty members are the best. They are from the industry and have a lot of knowledge and experience. They tell us about the problems which are faced in the industry and how to deal with them. They take us to real-life sites for learning. I got a new perspective of doing work and learning. I learned new things during my internship like how work is done in the industry and the solutions we need to give. I have learned that we need to be practical and we need to have a proper knowledge about the things which we are offering, otherwise no one will listen to us

I chose the right career for myself as I have got involved in my work so much that I don’t get bored during my work. I find it interesting. That’s why, I never feel like not doing any work.

There are many mistakes which I made along my way. I’ve learnt from them and I don’t let them happen again.

My college faculty is very supportive and is helping us a lot through this journey. The faculty members help us to get internship and jobs in the best companies. The quality of education needs to be good for a good life. The university plays an important role in one’s life and it should be the best.

When I look back, I realise it was the best decision choosing this stream for my career.

One should know what interests him/her. They should be sure that can they do that and will be able to handle it, and then only choose the best career option and never blindly follow others in making the career choice and should never come under peer pressure.
