VITEEE Vs. BITSAT: Which exam is tougher?

Both VITEEE and BITSAT are competitive private entrance exams that are opted for by engineering aspirants all over the country and abroad. The syllabus of both VITEEE and BITSAT consists of topics that are commonly studied in the 11th and 12th standards. Therefore, the topics that will be referred to while preparing the question paper will be similar.

Out of the total participating students in the online poll conducted by Shiksha, 60% stated that they consider BITSAT as the toughest examination among the top private engineering entrance exams. Following behind, 18% of the students consider VITEEE as the toughest exam.

viteee

One of the reasons for students selecting BITSAT as the toughest exam may be because VITEEE mostly focuses on delivering questions on core concepts, understanding and problem-solving; while BITSAT questions are application-based, and the students are required to have good speed and accuracy. Since BITSAT also offers the students a chance to secure more marks through the 12 additional questions, the pressure to ace the speed and accuracy in BITSAT is greater. Another reason why students may find BITSAT tougher is because of the marking scheme – for every incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted. There is no negative marking in VITEEE.

Q:   Which preparation materials are essential for VITEEE exam?
A:

To prepare for VITEEE, the students should have good reference books. Through the books, they will be able to deepen their conceptual knowledge so that they can solve the questions well. Along with books, mock tests and sample papers are also another important preparation material for the exam.

Q:   Which subjects have to be studied for VITEEE?
A:

The official VITEEE syllabus is prepared and released online. As per the official syllabus, the students will have to prepare topics from Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology, Aptitude and English for the entrance exam. The level of the syllabus will be similar to the 12th standard qualifying entrance examination. The authorities will prepare the question paper based on the official syllabus.

Q:   How is the VITEEE cutoff prepared?
A:

To prepare the VITEEE cutoff, the authorities will take into account different admission and exam related factors. Some of the important factors that will be considered to prepare the cutoff are the previous year's cutoff trends, exam difficulty level, total number of applicants, number of available seats for admission and more.
